I know apple/macs have ibooks and such, but I was looking at downloading some of the GW material to my computer.

I haven't been able to find a reader to open the material on my windows computer.

Any ideas?

If you're talking about the iBooks versions (the ones with rules pop-ups, etc), then there is no PC application that can play these.

The more general ebook versions can of course be played on a PC using any ebook reader software.

I'm working with a Mobi app for the computer:

Mobi Reader on CNET

I was able to open the preview edition, but I'm scared to drop $25 and not be able to use the whole thing.

Anyone else tried this?

Calibre is the best that ive found for e readers on the computer. IT WILL NOT OPEN ITUNES files but it will open files from the Black Library. If all your materials are on itunes your already in trouble. Those files are locked and DRM protected.

I have an Amazon account, so I just use the Kindle program.

Again, has been said. there are two types of files that GW sells. One is ibooks (available only from the iTunes bookstore) and the other is standard ebook formats (epub/mobi) that they sell both in the iTunes bookstore (labeled the 'ebook version') and on the black library website.

The latter version will play fine on any PC using a variety of different ebook reader programs.

The former version (the ibook format) will ONLY work on macs & iOS devices.

Actually, the interactive iBook version will only work on iPads, not on iPods, iPhones or Macs.

once again the (epub/mobi) that they sell on the iTunes bookstore (labeled the 'ebook version') will not open due to being DRM protected. I would highly recommend the black library site instead

There is an ibook app on the mac now which plays those files (I use it all the time).

You are correct about iphones/ipods though. They can't currently run the ibook files (just ipads).
