Those fire warriors are going to get wiped off the board easily even with an Aegis. If they need to cap objectives then they will have to foot slog across the map and will just be cut down. Use outflanking kroot or invest in Devilfish points.

You have no buff commander to aid your riptides shooting so they will probably be quite lacklustre. If you were planning on making that up through markerlights from the pathfinders then that is not sufficient. 7 BS3 lights that snap shot if they move and will be chewed up by any light fire that hits them will do nothing for you.

Whats the reasoning behind Aun'va? I think it's definitely worth getting an XV8 commander. They just offer so much more utility for your force.

I can't remember the rules for the formation off hand. Tank hunters is it? I hear it's quite strong. Could drop the missile drones if you need extra points for getting a new commander.

Aun'va gives them all the ability to go to ground and all get up and act normal once per game
he also gives everyone around him ld10 and allows all tau to reroll failed ld checks
also his guards have BS4 (better than almost all tau)
and I use them to shoot the Icarus Las,

The formation does give them tank hunters,
I also plan to use the farseer giving him Guide and Prescience

so he can has reroll hits on 2 units a turn (usually riptides)
and I usually put him in a unit with a riptide

I cant really change my list now that its been submitted,
also I plan to keep the jetbikes in reserve and move them far late game

Three riptides and 7 markerlights will be rough on you. Even with your use of guide and presience, that leaves one Riptide shooting at his normal ballistic. Not to mention, stim injector is a wastw of points when you have three Riptides on the table.

Im not looking to win the tourney, as half of my models are still unpainted,
I just dont want to get steamrolled

So this list was alright
Went 3 wins 2loses

first game went up against Daemon FMC list
it was pretty deadly
mission was to get as many scoring units in the enemys deployment zone

so it didnt go well for my firewarriors
lost that game, and lost one to an eldar list

Congrats on doing well, though you should have won vs fmc spam with that many fire warrior units.

Yeah it was my first time playing against daemons..
Made lots of mistakes.. and he had that 2++ rerolling 1s

If I played him again I would know exactly what to do,
but it was an extremely fun game
