I couldn't find a FAQ threadt so I'll post this here and I'm sure once it's answered the thread will sink pretty fast, but if there is a newbie FAQ please point me in the direction, because I'm sure I'm going to have more

Anyway, question: RoF. I do believe I'm right in thinking a warjack/beast with a weapon which has a RoF greater than 1 can shoot that weapon once for free, and can be forced with Focus/Fury to shoot more up to the RoF for that weapon. Is that correct?

If so, how do the special attacks for that weapon work? If a jack fires once normally for its initial attack, can it be forced to fire a special attack so long as there RoF hasn't been reached? And vice versa? (I thought I had an example of a jack with a RoF more than 1 and a special attack, but I can't find it now, sorry)

Secondly; Units with RoF greater than 1, EG Cygnar Long Gunners. A long gunner has a RoF 2 so long as it doesn't move, but units don't have Focus allocated to them, so do they just fire twice automatically?

Thanks in advance for any help.

1 - yes, that is how ROF works

2 - when you start a combat action, you select to do either initial attacks (melee or ranged) OR a special/power attack. After that, you can make "additional attacks" of the same type, using focus or special rules, but those additional attacks are all normal attacks (so only one special attack a turn).

3 - units with ROF more than 1 always include special rules that allow them to use the extra shot somehow. Long gunners have a special rule that allows them an additional attack (without needing focus) if they stand still.

While there isn't a FAQ for newbies there is a general FAQ/Errata at the PP website. Also they have a rules forum where you can ask your questions. Anyone with a purple name can give you an official answer.
