Hey Dakka long time lurker first time poster. So I'm just now getting back into the game and have come up with two army lists I would like to get some feed back on.

Ok so let's get to it.

List no.1

HQ
Captain: artifice armor, powerfist, thunder shield

Command squad: 4x plasma guns, apoth, and drop pod

Troops
Space marines: x10 w/ flamer, powerfist, combi melta, melta bombs, rocket launcher, and rhino

Space marines: x10 w/ flamer, powerfist, combi melta, melta bombs, rocket launcher, and rhino

Scouts: x5 w/ camo cloaks and sniper rifles

Heavy support
Thunderfire cannon
Fast attack
Storm tallon: skyhammer missiles
Storm tallon: skyhammer missiles
= 1245

List no.2

HQ

So there ya have it folks the two army lists I have my eyes on. Any feedback would be very appreciated![img]

I usually go with everything in pods or nothing in pods. If you go in pods then I can give you good advice, if you do anything else, I can only give you general advice. Also choosing Chapter Tactics can change what you base your list around.

We'll on the first list if I were to go straight drop pod what should I do / change? Also I think with the first list I would either use ultra marines or salamanders. The second list is kinda self explanatory as far as tactics go!

If you were to go all Pods I would definitely look into Sternguard. They are absolutely FANTASTIC especially with Vulkan and Salamander Tactics. If you wanted to go with Salamanders, I'd go with Vulkan. If you want to go with Ultramarines then I would change a few things....
Power Fists on Tac Squads aren't very good however I can see the use of one. If you were to drop them, add a Pod on the Thunderfire, Change the Captains Fist to a Thunder Hammer, then you'd have 15 points. The strategy would be to drop the Command Squad and a Tac Squad first turn. Then drop the other two pods later. The Scouts walk on from reserve to get a back objective while the Stormtalons come from reserve to lay firepower down.
