Hi all i'm not new to warmachine but i just started this faction and i wanted some advices on a couple of 50 points list.
List 1 tier 4 Shae
-Shae +6
-nomad 6
-nomad 6

Commodore 4
A&H 4
sea dog crew members (10) 8
-Mr walls 2
-3 Rifleman 3
Press Gangers (10) 6

I'm missing 6 points and i don't know if i should get 1 extra WJ for Meg (right now she is there to stall some warjacks) or get another full unit of press gangers. Also i'm not sure about the Riflemans are they worth 1 point each? if not what should i get?

Ok to be honest i don't know what to think about this list: i liked the idea about the iter 2 giving me the free UA of the HHSC but i can't find a way to get it right! The only thing i'm sure about this is that Thor+Basher is really funny to use and give pkenty of possibilities. ALso keep in mind that this army should complement the other one so i'd like to set it more against dealing with the heavys (my idea was using the CRAs of the HHSC to crack ehavy armors plus the tunne upped driller, the arcanists are there just in case i need magical weapons, also smoke bombs)

P.S. i know there will be people saying to put rockbottom in the second list but i have caracther rescrition and i wouldlike to keep them on competitive level

Are you restricted to using searforge commission contract/tiers or can you use highborn covenant contract for the second list. Mannyyyy more options if you can use highborn. Also - you missed one of gorten's WJ points. Maybe upgrade the driller to a rockram with the extra?

for the Gorten list, I would not marshal the Gunner or Blaster. They need a focus point to take advantage of Powerful Shot, which the marshal can't do.

I would suggest running a highborn list instead of gortens theme list. You get all the same units plus many many more additional options. Then, drop the high shields in favour of some OotAR. The gun mages are very good with gorten. He prevents blast damage which is a big weakness of theirs and he makes it more difficult to get into melee with them by blocking with wall of stone and preventing movement with his feat. Plus, forge guard have ranked attacks so they can screen the gun mages without blocking LOS. Honestly, not a whole lot of uses for high shields outside of searforge contract and theme lists. Ok thank you all for the advices (i didn't know jack' marshal coudn't benefit from the powerful shot benefit). I've only a question before going back to the theorycraft: what are OotAR? thank you.
P.S. any toughts on the shae's list?
P.S. figured out what OotAR is... kinda of a strange name for the officer of the arcane tempest

OotaR is the Order of the Amethyst Rose. Its the mercenary arcane tempest gun mage unit that can be used in Higborn covenant contracts. Identical to the Arcane Tempest gun mages unit so people usually just call them arcane tempest gun mages.

I can't help you much with Gorten as I'm just developing a Dwarf list myself around Drugen, but here's my 2 cents regarding Talion:
Where is Galleon?!!?!!?
Okay, I do see what you did there. You tried to get T4 for the speed bonus with the 3 nomads, but htat's just... no-madness! Seriosuly, giving up one of thebest colossals in the game just to be more alpha strkey than you already are isn't worth it imho. Galleon does so much work, and you could still conceivbly get T4 with it.
That said, my list goes as so:
Shae
- Galleon
- Freebooter
Doc
Hawk
Rockbottom
Grogspar
Meg
- Buccaneer (which you could put in shae's group for T4)
Max Press Gangers
Max Press Gangers
Min Sea Dogs
- Mr. Walls
- 1 rifleman (what else would you do with 1 leftover point?)
Commodore Canmnon & Crew.
I almost always run Max press gangers and Min sea dogs. With Hawk's object of desire and gang press gangers are almost always Mat 7 / PS 11 + 4 dice on the charge. With Doc andGrog they're 4+ tough that never get knocked down and very quickly will fill up your sea dog crew (who, with their advance deployment, will be in position to harass soemthing else in the same turn after the press gangers activate.)
By the way, buying min sea dogs with 3 rifles is the same as buying max sea dogs, except you get rifles.
This list sort of blurs the line between alpha strike and attrition. 20 tough press gangers are hard for anyone to cut through, and with insane foot long charge ranges you are going to close in faster than they expect you to.
If you are dead set on your first list, the only changes I would make are:
Drop sea dogs down to min, add buccaneer to Meg and add a max unit of press gangers.

yhea i'm not a fan of the colossi in general so i try to avoid them even if i know how powerful the galleon is but i think i'll try both lists and see wich one i prefer!
i like the idea of dropping the sea dogs number but i'm concerned about the bucaneer... it sounds fun expecially with shae's free knock down but people in my playgroup are skeptical about it.
The rescricions are the steamroller's one.
i'm still trying to put down a good rhulic list but the lack of free time is keeping me away from the table so i can only thorycraft.
