Hey everyone, I am fairly new to Warhammer 40k but I believe I've picked up quick enough and have been having a blast. My local game shop is having a 750-1500 progression league and I put together two lists of Necrons that seem to be pretty solid, in my current testing with friends, and I wanted to get a more educated response from a more experienced community. Please let me know which of these two you like more or what I could change or any general feed back.

Note: Flyers are not allowed in 750 or 1000 point army tiers.

Army #1

748 Points

HQ:
Overlord (CCB (Tesla Cannon), WS)

Troops:
x7 Necron Immortals
x7 Necron Immortals

Fast Attack:
x4 Wraiths (x1 Whipcoil)

Heavy Support:
Annihilation Barge (Tesla Cannon)
Annihilation Barge (Tesla Cannon)

Army #2

745 Points

HQ:
Overlord (CCB (Tesla Cannon), Warscythe)

Troops:
x8 Necron Immortals
x7 Necron Immortals
x10 Necron Warriors

Heavy Support:
Annihilation Barge (Tesla Cannon)
Annihilation Barge (Tesla Cannon)

Thank you for any help or advice!

Well first off let me say well done. You have what looks like a really solid in either circumstance, especially for a newer player. If I had to choose I would take list 1, possibly considering dropping some wraiths for one last annihilation barge to round out you heavy support. Or just take it in a later round since it is an escalation/progression league. In either case I tend to favor armies designed for the kill and not so much for holding objectives. I know many on dakka have the opposite opinion so go with your gut, there's really no wrong answer. Whatever you do keep having fun!!!

Some Tomb World in some galaxy by that one thing in that one place (or Minnesota for nosy people)

I would go with list 1 except i would drop the Olord and bring the immortals down to 5 for now and pick up a third anni barge and a Dlord with MSS and SW to lead the wraiths.

In the 10-15 matches I've played so far I have really pushed aggressively for the "Tabling" side of matches. I find a lot of players enjoy the objectives and tend to stretch their armies to accomplish that making fast, tight, armies fun. Thanks for the advice and I will see how this works out. I wanted to run 3 barges but I wasn't sure if that was allowed for some reason. I think I was under the impression that the Command Barge was a heavy. Thanks!

DLord is a very interesting character that I planned on adding during later tiers but I guess this would allow for a much more powerful melee balance. I will also check this out and see how it works out too. Thanks!
