I've recently picked up the mercenaries book and I'm still trying to figure it all out. I think I understand most of the rules including mercenaries or running a mercenary army, but there's a couple of things I'm not sure about and I couldn't find any specific rules for.

First, only mercenary warcasters and jack marshals can have mercenary warjacks in their battlegroups. However, I can't find any specific rule saying you can't take autonomous mercenary warjacks in a different faction. I assume that it's covered by the fact that they aren't in your faction and don't have a "... will work for..." rule, but I just wanted to check if it was possible.

Second: say I attach Koldun Kapitan Valachev to Sam MacHorne's unit, they now count as Khador models. Does that mean that her mercenary warjacks now count as Khador warjacks (and can therefore be affected by something like power booster), or does it mean that she can jack-marshal Khador warjacks like a Juggernaut?

1st) The rules force you to select models that will work for your faction. Mercenary jacks do not have a designation other than "Mercenary" or Rhulic and therefore can only work for those factions.

2) Under the Ranking officer rules it states that if you take a mercenary jack marshall then the jack they take must be a mercenary jack. The jack does not become faction friendly to the hiring faction since it retains the mercenary tag line.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

All jacks must start the game with a controller, they can't be autonomous unless they have a rule allowing it(like the Avatar)

So in order to take a Merc jack you must have a Merc warcaster or jack marshal in your force(who will work for you)

Bit of a moot point with the second one. Devil Dogs won't work for Khador.
