Hey!
Hello people! So...im quite new to the forum and to WH40k in general, I started about 5 months ago and chose the Dark angels as a starting army. Immediatly I got the Dark Angels codex, a Chaos Black sprayer as primer (they didn't have the Caliban green) and the 'Paint set' box, containing 5 Dark Angels Space Marines, 8 citadel paints (Mournfang Brown, Ulthuan grey, Agrax Earthshade, Mephiston Red, Ushabti Bone, Leadblecher, Imperial Primer and Caliban Green) plus, well a starter brush. Anyway, I tried painting two or three marines, and the results weren't too bad, the only thing im concerned about is the fact that the green looks a little too dark, as by looking at them while not in direct light, the colour looks almost black. So, I just wanted to know if there was a way to lighten up the armour colour just a little bit. Also, I was planning to get a Terminator squad (Oh, right, I allready have a Tactical space marine squad) and I was wandering if there was an alternative to the bone colour of the Deathwing Terminators...I was thinking of something more on white, but if white is too difficult for a starter like me, then I'll just paint them in bone colour.
So, if anyone can help me, please do!

The easiest solution to the dark armour is to get a lighter green (I use the old paints, but Warpstone glow is the new equivalent) and either drybrush it or mix it with the Caliban green.
On the terminators, I've seen people do an almost pure white scheme, which looked nice. Rakarth flesh might be a good base, or ceramite white with a wash. I could also be convinced to use Nurgling green, but I haven't seen it in the flesh so I can't comment on whether this would be a good choice.

Nurgling green is not a good choice for white/bone, let me tell you that.

I can endorse Rakarth Flesh as the base coat for DW terminators. I follow that up with highlighting in a mix of white/light gray.
