Is there a standard for which base size to use for armoured cars, and other types of transport vehicles? I prefer to mount my wheeled vehicles on bases, but with the Otters and Humbers they're nearly too large for the small-sized base, but they look too small for the regular sized one. My instinct is to go with the smallest base that will still fit.

There really isn't any standard base size for most vehicles, though I think you have the general idea when you said you should try and mount them on the smallest base possible. Remember, the rules are written specifically for unbased vehicles. This means that if you should choose to base your vehicles you should play as if the bases weren't there, e.g. measure command distance hull to hull, not of base to base, measure range and charge distance from the hull, not the base, etc...

Essentially, if you play using the rules as written then the size of the base you use for your vehicles shouldn't matter.
