First off, the basing on my flames of war has started peeling. It's just PVA covered with sand, and unfortunately the edges are peeling up from the base, I have started scratching at my bases to prevent this in the future, but will it work, and how can I repair the peeling on the models I've based so far?


Second question, can I spray the GW gloss varnish from the tub through an airbrush? I need to gloss coat a couple of tanks before I wash them and putting it on by brush will take a lot longer than using the airbrush.

I've never had luck fixing that problem. Once if started coming up it fell off. I "solved" the issue by going over to resin basis and never looked back.

As to the airbrushing gloss varnish. Yes you can. A word of caution though, clean it really well and quickly after you spray it. It's a stone cold ......... To get it out of your airbrush after it dries.

Thank you very much, and cleaning wont be an issue, I'll be keeping a sink full of warm soapy water ready for cleaning after the gloss is applied.

Yes you can use the gloss varnish in an airbrush. Mix minimum 1:1 or thinner multiple coats 3x. You want that tank to be super glossy and the wash will flow like butter into the cracks. before you airbrush make sure your model is 100% dust/lint/crud free as the gak always builds up from handling.

I would use 'Future floor polish' instead. You can get it in Sainsbury's. FW use it.
