Hey there folks,

I have finally settled in to the Albuquerque area with a large smattering of Imperial Guard in tow. If there are any other players in the area, I would love to meet up over coffee or something before getting in a game. Best way to meet new people it is. Or, if anyone knows of any FLGS in the area, that'd be swell too. I live near the UNM campus here in town so I might try my luck with those young bucks.

Thanks, and I hope this post gets a few nibbles!

Check out Astro Zombies in I think (knob-hill?). They bought a shop next door for running games and campaigns. It's super close to UNM. I live in CA but I was in NM in Jan and picked up the new 'nid codex from there and talked to some dudes there. They said they have a pretty solid community. Hope this helps!

Sweet. I knew that Astro Zombies existed but I didn't know they had bought a place for running games. Next time I wander down there I'll have to pop in and ask. Thanks for the tip.

There are quite a few 40K players that gather there. I've seen FoW and Infinity in decent numbers as well.
Occasionally us Grognards play historical games, Darkest Africa, Saga, or Strange Aeons.

There's at least two local yahoo groups devoted to miniatures:

Elvesrule (pretty much any kind of mini gaming)
Caminorealgamers (a mostly historical gaming group)

There's a 40K group called Bolters Con Queso, that you join on the Meetup website.
