Came up with a cool list that uses one of the new Tyranid Formations... It is a nice way to give Tyranids allies.. How the rules work is that the gargoyles from this formation have the take and hold rule meaning if they are taking an objective no one can deny it. If they die the gargoyles can come back on a 4up (when the whole squad dies)
Formation
Flying Hive Tyrant - Wings, TL Devourers x2
Harpies with heavy venom cannon upgrade x 2
Hive Crone x1
Gargoyles 10 man x 3

Primary
HQ
Flying Hive Tyrant - Wings, TL Devourers x2
Flying Hive Tyrant - Wings, TL Devourers x2
Troops
Termaguants 30 man
Warriors - deathspitter upgrade 1 with stranglethorn cannon
FA
Hive Crone
Hive Crone
Hive Crone

That is 1850 pts exactly...
That is 9 flying monstrous creatures... I don't care if your Tau or Eldar, this will still be a scary list... Thoughts...

I am thinking or getting rid of some gaunts for more gargoyles...

Armies
Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Eldar Corsairs, Orks, Tyranids, Genestealer Cult, Chaos, Choas Space Marines, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Necrons, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Ad Mech, Knights, Skaven, Sylvaneth

Your idea is sound, but:

1) No reason to run a 30 man unit of TGaunts unless you need them for a Tervigon. Break it up into 3 10 man squads.
2) Warriors only gain an advantage for having a deathspitter if they are outflanking. Otherwise, save 10 points.

Thanks for your reply. I agree I had originally written the list for a tervigon and thus the 30 termagaunts, but splitting them up or more gargoyles I think would be better and more brutal

Armies
Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Eldar Corsairs, Orks, Tyranids, Genestealer Cult, Chaos, Choas Space Marines, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Necrons, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Ad Mech, Knights, Skaven, Sylvaneth

Since Garg have the Objective secure rule, thus making them the choice for scoring, I would drop the warriors and 10 guants for more gargs and run 2 x10 Termigaunts as primary troops.

Also unless the formation requires the HVC I would leave the Harpies with the strangler. ( or you know your facing knights....)

No I thought having the S9 would be good to have as the rest of the list is S6

Armies
Eldar, Dark Eldar, Harlequins, Eldar Corsairs, Orks, Tyranids, Genestealer Cult, Chaos, Choas Space Marines, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Necrons, Space Marines, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Imperial Knights, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Ad Mech, Knights, Skaven, Sylvaneth

I like it. After you give it a play test, I'd also try out keeping the tervigon in the skyblight - 8 FMC is almost as scary as 9, but with the backfield spawning synapse beast + additional psyker, it could be even more brutal. Find a way to fit a Miasma Cannon on there and you're set.

Yeah drop the extra gants. I'd like to see toxin on the Flyrants you need it for killing Riptides and Wraithknights and it's quite useful against everything else too!

Flyrants don't really need fleet though FC can be helpful against other MCs always take the poison first.
