I heard the new tactical marine torsos do not fit the old ones. Is this just the little nubs or is there a significant difference?

The little nubs are reversed. Just remove them with a knife or file and you'll be good to go.

I already assembled my vanguard, so can't check. But I'm pretty sure they are the same. All the new kits from the last codex release.

Yes.

The new Sternguard, Vanguard, and Tactical squads have the nubs reversed compared to the older marine boxes.
