Hello I am from Sudbury, Ontario and am looking for a Warhammer (40K) convention or huge tournament or expo (anything worthy of a weekend road trip) to go to some time in June to August, ideally it would be somewhere like Toronto or Ottawa or in between. Let me know if you know of any!

Warmasters Challenge is the biggest, but that happens usually in the fall. Not sure of anything in the summer time.

does Fan Expo in Toronto offer anything to do with 40k?

As Jay mentioned, Warmasters is the biggest, held in September each fall (and its fantasy counterpart in March) in Kitchener-Waterloo. I used to be the key organizer, so if you have questions, I can answer them.

Conquest Toronto used to happen in June... but the key organizer is teaching in the Northern Ontario, so they are on hiatus for the time being...

Astronomi-con Toronto is usually during the summer as well, but I don't think the 2014 date has been announced. The location is stable, but the timing varies as the organizers are from Winnipeg.

People have tried to run Warhammer events at Fan Expo, but I have never gone to one, and I have no idea if they are amazing successes or terrible flops or somewhere in between.

The last time Fan-expo ran a 40K event was 2 years ago, and from what I heard it was a flop. They didn't run one last year.

Nate hit most of the big ones. Legends warehouse also put on a large doubles tournament late last year. There have been rumours of a singles sometime this year.

Having been to all of the ones mentioned abaove they are all great events. Warmasters is a 2 day (doubles on one and singels on the other). Conquest was the same. Both are more of a "standard" tournament. Asto is a 2 day single with custom missions. It's a little more hobby centric, but no less fun.
