Does anyone know of any miniatures that could be used as count as Tallaran? Or modern arabs? The molds for the old Tallarn are just terrible and the ones from forgeworld are just too expensive.

Different style and would require some conversion. You can pick up a sprue of two of the chaps for £1 if you want to try it.

Mix and matching works well. I have a large desert guard, but only use the Tallarn figs for vets. Use standard Cadians for troops, Mordians for officers and Catchans for penal legion. Makes all the units a lot more distinctive, and painting a bit more fun.

Haven't seen the actual figures but the piccies of the Puppetswar Desert Troopers look very nice.
