Hello once again fellow players, due to the insane amount of Imperial Knights appearing at my local and competitive meta (its pretty crazy, two people running pure Knight armies and almost every Imperial player taking at least 1) it has had me started looking at ways to counter these bad boys and to field in the future an army outside the Imperium (already constructing 2000pts. of Elysian Drop Troops and planning on building 2000pts. from the Storm Troopers book and an allied detachment of Raptors Space Marines) and have been toying with a few ideas, primarily between Tau (Crisis Suit Spam) and Eldar, not because they are top tier armies but more because of their fluff and the look of the army.

That being said it got me starting to think about their Darker Cousins, however not necessarily a fan of their fluff a friend who is a long time Eldar player turned me onto the idea of a "Corsair" style army, I was originally going to go with Dark Eldar rules and Eldar models but my buddy told me there was an actual list from Imperial Armor 11 involving the Corsairs, and after reading it, I am sold at running these guys. Also my store is VERY competitive with lots of good players so this list is intended to try and compete with them. Please let me know what you guys think, I am a complete novice when it comes Dark Eldar (1st attempt ever) so please any and all thoughts, comments and ideas are appreciated, thanks for reading!

Holy crap you will just straight up remove infantry units with all that shooting!
However, you need more anti-tank, so switch the Disintegrators to Dark Lances I think. Right now pretty much all of your AT is tied up in 4 vehicles, which is no buenos. Also, the squad going with Vect MUST be 9 models. It's a rule. So the Kabalite squad needs to add 4 chumps.

Besides that, that's a hell of a lot of shooting. It looks pretty good!

The Twilight Zone

I would go dual pulse laser on the hornets, as they can provide a lot of S8 at long range(more than your falcons). The warp hunter does not need the cannon, as you should be trying to stay far away from enemies. I would drop it or trade it for spirit stones.

I would drop your blade sworn to trick out your prince, and take some extra corsairs in the process. A shadowfield and voidsaber are basically required. I usually like haywire grenades and a balelight as well.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

That is a crap ton on S8. Nasty. I know you're going for a stong theme, but do Serpents fit that theme? Swapping a couple of falcons for Serps seems like it could really help you in terms of volume fire. Cool list though.

Corsairs cannot get Wave Serpents at all, not even as dedicated transports.

If I were to drop the Bladesworn and Venom I would probably just kit him out, toss some more spirit stones and such on my vehicles and put him in one of the Falcons, Basically was putting him in a Venom to get his awesome Orbital Bombardment but see what you mean by making him a bit nastier.

A Corsair army! First time in a long time I see one here! Thumbs up for that!

Overall, the list looks great. Loads of high Strength low AP weaponry, and as long as someone doesn't spam AV14, it should do great! I will, however, agree with Serling about dropping the Cannon on the Warp Hunter, going dual Pulse Lasers on the Hornets and possibly dropping the Blade Sworn and Venom to kit out the Prince a bit.

Good luck with the list!
