i have grown abit bored of just having my tyranids so have decided to make myself a necrons army.

i have written a 1000pt list and was wondering what you guys thought of it as a starter:

HQ
Overlord: 235pts
command barge
MSS
semiternal weave
war-scythe
royal court :
harbinger of the storm

Troops:
5 x warriors with night scythe

5 x warriors with night scythe

5 x warriors with night scythe

heavy support:

2 x annihilation barge with tesla cannon

1 x annihilation barge with gauss cannon

total points 1000pts

i would like your thoughts on this and also what i could add to make it a 1500pts army

You don't need sempiternal weave if you have your Overlord on a command barge, it's a chariot so it give him a 2+.

As mentioned beloew theres no need for the semiternal weave. I also think the annihilation barge should have tesla on all of them.

to make your list up to 1,500 you could try adding ether: some deathmarks with a harbinger of despair. or/and some wraiths. I have recently found that I quite like destroyers too. But yeah you have some options..

what should i put instead of semiternal weave? as that would free up 15pts

also for a 1500pt army i was told i should bump all troops too 10 warriors apiece, remove 1 annihilation barge and add a monolith.

add 5 deathmarks with a harbinger of despair and also add another 2 harbinger of the storm so every unit has one?

that makes 1480pts

removing a barge for monolith is a very bad idea, the barge is so much better for its points its not even funny.

I second this. the monolith isnt going to be worth it..

Yeah the fire output of 3 Barges is kind of insane. If they stand and fire you have 12 Str 7 Tesla shots twinlinked, and 6 ST6 shots that are Tesla.

That's a massive amount of firepower.

The Monoliths big use is also when it starts getting into footslogging lists to take advantage of the portal.
