Subject: Eldar, 2000 points - I have no idea what I'm doing

I'm only just starting Eldar, partly as an ally to Tau (yes, I know, bring on the hate) and partly because I love the aesthetic of the units. But I am not entirely sure how best to build or run and army, so I'm looking to you guys for help. I wrote up a 2000 point list partly based on another list I read, and I'd like some help in figuring out what to do with it.
As a note, I'd like to try to avoid doing spammy, cheesy lists. So I have no intention of running a ton of Wave Serpents, just a couple, maybe.
HQ
Farseer - Runes of Witnessing, Jetbike (130)
Warlock Council - 7 models, 6 with singing spear/jetbike (One model is on foot to sit with the Guardians) (365)
Troops
Dire Avengers x5 - Wave Serpent with Scatter Lasers/Shuriken Cannon (195)
Dire Avengers x5 - Same as above (195)
Guardian Defenders x10 - Heavy Weapon Platform with Starcannon (110)
Fast Attack
Warp Spiders x10 (190)
Warp Spiders x10 (190)
Heavy Support
Fire Prism - Shuriken Cannon, Holofields (150)
Dark Reapers x5 - Exarch with Fast Shot (170)
Fortification
Aegis Defense Line with Icarus Lascannon (85)
Dark Eldar: Ally HQ
Baron Sathonyx (105)
Dark Eldar: Ally Troops
Kabalite Warriors x5 - Blaster, Venom
Basically, I built this army with stuff that I thought was fun. Always liked the idea of a Seer Council, even if it (apparently) isn't as effective as it once was, I love Warp Spiders having tried them out in a game, and, well, Dark Reapers were the bane of my Space Wolves' existence back in 5th.
Any thoughts? Advice? Links to some useful articles re: tactics?

Even without mass serpents, your list is still very strong. Seer councils are outright deadly, and even with a single seer your still looking at a tough nut to crack.
I would drop a couple spears from your warlock council, 4/5 is sufficent. Have your farseer carry one over the warlock, as they cost the same but the seer is BS5 with multiple wounds.
The fire prism could probably live without a shuricannon, as it should be playing the range game and staying out of dakka range. Use these points to get the venom night shields.
On your venom, night shields are important, but I would also take grisly trophies, as they allow you to re roll psychic tests.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Strongly recommend another seer to get that all important fortune. List looks nice and crisp.

List looks good.
One thing you missed is giving the Venom a 2nd Splinter Cannon. Venoms are awesome.
If you're trying to run a Seer council, taking a 2nd farseer is highly recommended.
Wraithknights are awesome, and synergise well with a Council. They also replace the AT you'd be relying on your prism for.
Cut the Warp spiders down a bit. I find 10 to a squad to be overkill. 6-8 is my recommended squad size.

A few things,
1) drop SC from serpents and prism, thats enough points for HF on the serpents.
2) I would drop 5 spiders from each unit, then with the 190pts buy another farseer on jetbike with shard and runes =180
3) I would drop the foot guardians and warlock for 2 units of jetbikes-102 and give the venom nightshields extra cannon and trophies.
That's the only changes I can see being very useful.

the nucleus of this is very close the "deer" council that won the Las Vegas Open (Google it, you use grisly trophies etc etc 1 more Farseer would complete what I am saying) so it's a very very strong list. Having said that it is toned down well - Warp Spiders are legends. so other than what was already said: add holo fields for tanks. if you like wining this is a very strong list. if you find it hard getting to grips with it, look at the enemy layout, prioritise them in terms of danger and move down the list wiping them out one at a time with your spiders and massed fire. seems to work ok for me
