If you haven't yet bought a second starter set, I highly recommend it. My extra damage deck has already been cannibalized of three cards to replace friends missing pieces. The extra set of maneuver templates has been given to another friend to replace ones lost in a tragic accident involving a stray gesturing hand and a can of coke. (LOL) Plus the price incentive is fantastic for your model collection! This is a often mentioned bit of advice, but always worth repeating for new players.

All personal opinion and maybe some speculation, but for your budget consideration: It's also worth pointing out that in FFG's super suave way of designing product, you get a fair amount of reward for buying at least one of each expansion. For the budget conscious player, it is also worth pointing out that you'r purchase efficiency starts to go down the more copies of a ship you buy. Your maximum efficiency is arguably highest when you purchase one of any large expansion, and two of any blister(Excepting the HWK-290, and maybe X-wings and basic TIEs). After those points the usable content starts to diminish rapidly, but both the "Aces" expansions seem like they will reward you plenty for a second one if you choose to buy it. Especially because they will also blend perfectly with a pair of regular blisters of matching ships you bought earlier! I say this because we've seen enough now to think that FFG seems willing to put more copies of popular cards or "must have more-of's" in later expansions. For instance if you really are excited about a full squad of stealth device Interceptors, but don't really want to buy that second Firespray, FFG will likely slip a few copies of Stealth Device into wave five. Like on the TIE-Phantom perhaps. But by all means if you want ten of every ship, please help yourself! I won't complain about anyone supporting this game!

Which brings me to a question: Should I buy a third starter set? After the initial buy in of two starters, and a blister pack of each the X-Wing and TIE Fighter, I got three X's and five TIE's. (I also have at least one of each other expansion, but that's not the point) I would like to fill those numbers out to a full four X's and eight TIE's. Now the blister packs for each of those arguably don't come with a whole lot of interesting or overly usable cards, TIE fighter especially (these two and the HWK-290 kinda are exceptions to the rule). So at this point in the collection process, do I (A) go for another starter and a single TIE blister, (B) buy a X-wing Blister and three TIE Blisters, (C) use the GR-75's X-wing as my fourth and buy three TIE blisters? Or some other suggestion?

I'd suggest two of each booster, big ship, and starter. The massive ships should be only 1 (I hope). Interceptors are amazingly fun, but the new IA box means you don't need more than one booster of them, two if you're a fanatic. By the same token, you'll only need one A-Wing pack due to the RA box due out-but that'll take time. I personally have at least two of everything, plus a third Y-Wing, 4 A-Wings, 4 Interceptors, and a third B-Wing. Ok, I guess I only have duplicates of about half the ships. The rest are in 3s or 4s. Plus regular TIEs and X-Wings can't be counted properly. Lol.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

From what we've seen previewed of them, FFG isn't giving any incentive to buy a duplicate of either huge ship but plenty to buy one of each. Unless you want to of course, but then for maximum cross usable cards you'll want to pick them up in pairs. What incentive do you see for the second copy of a large ship? I know dual falcons is a thing, stealth device is plenty good for a four of, and Advanced Sensors are worth getting more of. But I don't see reason enough there. Not for models that I won't be using in pairs all the time. Also quad A-wings might be a thing with Rebel Aces, hence I still recommend a second standard A-wing blister to match the inevitable two of Rebel Aces. That way four ships, four refits, four test pilots.

OP, I'm in the same boat number-wise with X-Wings and TFs. Two core sets and 1 each blister to yield a total of three X-Wings and five TFs.

I'm personally aiming to get the Transport set for the 4th X-Wing. It has 3 perks I see: cool big ship, a uniquely painted X-Wing, and a good selection of new X-Wing pilots.

If you need three more TFs, I would suggest another core set and 1 blister. Two blisters almost cost as much as 1 core set, but you get the added bonus of another X-Wing, dice, templates, etc. with the additional core set.

...but maybe they'll do a remake of TFs like they have with the aces.

I was wondering if they might do a Imperial huge ship that came with one or two new TFs? Sounds like that could be a thing?

Most definitely want to get the two huge ships, 3/4ths the reason I want the GR75 is the new X-wing pilots haha LOL! But than going the extra starter route I'll end up with five X-wings! Ugh, such first world problems I have: Which toys to buy!?

I have 2 of everything the large bases not only because of the cards but running 2 shuttles or 2 fire sprays or 2 falcons is actually pretty decent and fun. Besides its handy if you let someone use your other ships as well and want to play the same ship. if you want 8 ties the coe seems like the best bet. I have 6 right now and already have 4 xwings and im planning on getting the transport but dont really think ill need 6 xwings. all tho id love to run them in a big battle.

That's the thing though. No one knows what the point cost limit for 'Epic Play' is going to be. Five to six X-wings could be a thing!
