Hey all

So I, like so so many of you have been playing/collecting since 2nd edition, and have definitely accumulated a stockpile of unfinished projects. In an effort to make myself feel better about these past and some current purchases I've decided to get a coalition going of space wolves and eldar. Truth be told, I keep forgetting to check the rulebook to see what kind of allies they are, but I think it will be cool/fun either way to paint up a bunch of different units and then unify them with their bases. The models used may not be the optimal choices or best wargear, but it is what I have, so there is that...

Anyways....here's the list i was thinking about:

Rune Priest

Lone Wolf, MotW, x2 wolf friends
Dreadnought, Assault Cannon, Fist w/ Heavy Flamer

x7 Grey Hunters, Plasmagun, Rhino
x6 Grey Hunters, Meltagun, Razorback w/ TL Heavy Bolter

Whirlwind
x4 Long Fangs, x3 Missile launchers

Farseer, Singing Spear, Spirit Stone of Anlathan

x10 Guardians, Shuriken Cannon, Warlock

x5 Spiders

Wraithknight, Heavy Wraithcannons

So, I think there are a lot of elements that can support each other decently, long range and mid range firepower, lots of re-rolls from the two players with Divination. Now I have two units that id like to throw in, but for 1500pts I can only fit one. A squad of x5 Wraithguard with Wraithcannons or x2 Thunderwolves with x2 Storm Shields. Both can add something to the overall force, but which would be better?

Adding the eldar gives me an excuse to get the Wraithknight built and painted, while still working on wolf models from over the last 20 years haha. I know its a little light on troops, but I think there are enough kther things to worry about to take the pressure off. Also, im not playing any tournaments so that won't be an issue...

Thoughts?

Since this is not competitive I will not make any criticisms, as for the option on which unit to choose, the TWC will support the WK best as they both have 12" movement.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate you not suggesting I redo the whole list because I know if I was going to a tourney there would be changes, but im not. Friendly games only. Which is why I (hesitantly) only have two small squads and one slightly larger but paper-thin squad of troops haha

I was leaning towards the wolves as a buffer for thr knight, but there is some damage five Wraithcannons can do....just much slower....haha

Thanks!
