hello, Dakka. I'm likely going to be moving to Rome, NY for work, but going to be staying in Utica. I just wanted to know if there is an active enough wargaming community (warmahordes, 40k, fantasy). I also wanted ot know if there were any stores that sell and support games/ tournaments.

I've posted on here before asking this question but was told "go to syracuse". Fact is that that would be an hour or so drive for me.

I'm moving to Rome this summer and have two fantasy armies. I'm hoping that there will be people to play locally with as well.

You are in a little dead zone between Syracuse and Albany. I try to chime in on NY LFG threads, so I can search for my own posts and track stuff. But a quick search doesn’t yield much. Some folks down in the Finger Lakes, but that’s probably more of a drive. Sorry not to be more of a help.

And welcome to Dakka Wookleknows!

Unfortunately, "drive to Syracuse", is probably your best bet - certainly if you want an FLGS. I'm over north of Herkimer, and even with two community colleges, Utica College, SUNY IT, and Hamilton near-by the region just can't seem to support a store.
