Hej!

Not long time ago I started again to play after some years of pause and after some game I was thinking to upgrade to 1250 pts
Playing the BA I like the idea of an aggressive style of game where my foes see an (half painted ) red army charging them from all sides.
But I also saw that I need some more firepower or stationary troops to hold down objectives.
I've been using the Baal for outflanking and the result are always oustNding!
However I'm open for any suggestions:

i'm not a great fan of DC, so i'll ditch DC unit and dreadnaught for another assault squad and/or another baal.
also, you can think about using razorback mounted assault in lieu of jp assault.
however, you don't need priest for razorback mounted marines so you can spare some point more

if you do like DC, i strongly advise to use them without jp and in a pod; you can also put dreadnaught and sternguard in a pod so you can drop 2 of them on first turn. JP is very expensive (15 point each one while "vanilla" marine cost 14 points and BA assault marine cost 17 points each)

I do love the DC,problem is,as you noticed,the price.
maybe in bigger battle they can do the difference,i thought to put them in a stormraven, but the Dreadnaught so far have been incredible, and i haven't tried yet in the drop pod....
shall i go with tactical marines instead or devastator squad or another baal??
i really need some firepower...

Devastators only hold objectives in Big Guns Never Tire. So... No.

Definitely dump the packs on the DC and Drop pod them if you want to keep them. A fun thing to do with them is have 1/5 take a Bolt-gun and Power fist for extra punchin' power and use of their Relentlessness.

A strong option for the Assault Squads is to give the sergeant and one regular an Infernus Pistol, giving you highly mobile tank hunting with no loss of punching power.

What's your reasoning behind the Sternguard? I've never been fond of them with the Angels because they don't keep pace, can't hold objectives, and (while having cool unique ammo) are kinda meh in comparison to the other options.

A lot of points are being placed into sanguinary priests. 150 points for two models at 1250 is a lot. I don't see them taken until at least 1500.

School's out, the War Machine rolls once more

The reason for the vanguard is to have some firepower and having some versatility without be stuck on sight like woulf be with the Devastator Squad :S
