I am going to be moving to the area here at the end of April and have been lacking in my gaming time for the past 7 months. What are the good places to get a game and hang out with other gamers. I mostly play 40k and boardgames but I do also have warmachine minis that need painting.

So whos out there?

There are a few gaming places in Omaha. I don't know about Lincoln.

We have a local GW with a couple of gaming tables and a painting station (you can really only paint GW stuff in the store, of course). Saturdays are the big 40k days, and we throw down with apocalypse the 3rd Saturday of the month. The 2nd sat of the month has been battlefleet gothic but since we finally got our new permanent store manager I'm not sure if that's still going on. Sundays the warhammer fantasy guys usually play. We just finished a 40k kill team league, and there is currently a youngbloods (16 and under) paint and build contest going on this month.

Dragon's Lair has some 40k days, MTG nights, some board game nights, and warmachine. There are two locations. The location downtown is brand new, since the original location sadly burned and the building had to be declared a total loss about a month ago. You might see benefits and stuff for dragon's lair around town when you move in. (Dragon's Lair is like the oldest comic and gaming shop in town.)

I'm not sure what kind of gaming events the other comic shops in town hold other than MTG.

The Game Shoppe down in Belleuve does some 40k, board games, MTG and other gaming, but I've only been there once.

Accelerando Coffee shop has a few people that play board games on saturdays.

There are some meetup groups for board gamers in omaha and the lincoln areas, so you might want to check that out (also if you like D&D).

Spielbound Board Game Cafe' is running its kickstarter right now and should eventually open in midtown. I have no idea what's going on with the android factory bar., but it's supposed to be a nerd/geeky culture place.

I do not work for GW in any fashion. When I edit my post, either I've misspelled something, punctuation, or I'm fixing swearing. Oops.
