Hi all, I need a help, I'm going to make myself another blood angels army, since my first one isn't in good shape and I can't decide, should I paint them as normal blood angels, lamenters, which are yellow, or red with black fists, like a blood angels version of crimson fists, so one fist would be black, and vets would have 2 black fists, I've made a list of the pros and cons of each

Generic blood angels

Pros: everyone knows who they are
They have an amazing background
Vampires

Cons: lots of people play them
Red is quite hard to paint

Lamenters

Pros: even better background than generic blood angels
Cool colour scheme
No one ever has them
Only like 200 survive so real opportunity for kitbashes and conversions

Cons: impossibly hard colour scheme
Impossibly hard shoulder pad

Blood angels with black fists

Pros: cool colour scheme
Unique
Great opportunity for kit bashing and converting
I can make my own background

Cons: not a proper chapter
Might have issues in competitions
Fluff issues for history

So can people help me decide?? Cos I really can't decide!!

Mostly, on my phone.

I would go with what you want. Solar_Lion's Lamenters are an inspiration. There's also flesh tearers? But homebrew, especially one that's fairly obviously BA, shouldn't be a problem in competition. I use my own Weeping Angels (White, blue drops), no comments other than "Cool!" etc.

If there's one you're more passionate about, go for it.

Both are cool.
(Is there one color scheme you think you can paint better?)

Also, check out my history blog: Minimum Wage Historian, a fun place to check out history that often falls between the couch cushions.
