Hq:
Captain tycho. Will be rolling with the stern guard.

Standard libby (with biomancy or blood lance and sword of sanguinius) rolling with d company

Troops:
10 assault marines in drop pod ( 2x plasma guns, sarge with power fist)

10 assault marines in drop pod (2x plasma guns, sarge with power axe)

10 tactical marines in drop pod ( With multi melta and meltagun, sarge with power fist)

8 d company in drop pod. 6 bolters. 1 power fist and 1 thunder hammer

Elites:
Fragioso w/ melta and grapple in drop pod

Fragioso w/ melta and grapple in drop pod

5 stern guard all with combi plasmas in drop pod

Any suggestions? Reckon this would be strong enough in a tourney? Was thinking of maybe dropping d company for a 2x autocannon dread in drop pod? Leaving me a few extra points for other things too.

Prehaps you could swap the plasma guns on the assault marines for meltaguns,15 points for a gun that can kill your marines never seemed very good to me (you might fare better than me in that regard though)

Perhaps not, but since GW seems to subsist off sadness and pain, I can't rule it out.

Haha fair enough. Ye to start with I didn't like em but the range and rapid fire always seems to be helpful.

Meltaguns are generally more useful on Assault Marines due to them being Assault weapons.

hmm if i am correct (i may be wrong) but you need to start the game with models on the board.... no sure a full drop pod list is even possible....

also i'd keep the asm with jump packs 1d6 scatter, reroll reserve and after the deep striking they are still maneuverable enough to get places...

To be honest that was one of my queries i forgot to mention. I don't see why you couldn't but I read nothing that says you can either.
Was hoping I could drop four of them in on first turn. Probably the 2 dreads and d company and the tact squad. Then the rest come in later.

But ye I'll probably melta the assault squads and plasma the tact.

Put Corbs in with the Sternguard. It's hilarious.

Haha he would make a welcome addition to that squad. May give him a go.

He's actually much more valuable than Tycho. I really like level 1 libby with corbs and 8 sternguard. When you drop in, normal libbies can't cast. BUT BA libbies can use SoS on your opponent's turn. So you get 5+ cover and Corbs FNP on the squad.

The rules state that at least 50% of your army must start on board.
However, the rule does not effect unit which MUST start at reserves (read: Drop Pods/units in them).

Augh .. this comes up every time.

You may only reserve 50% of your army. This does not include units that MUST start in reserve (pods/fliers) and units embarked upon them.
If your entire army is in pods, you may reserve your entire army and meet these rules.

You then get to drop 1/2 (rounded up) of your pods in turn 1, thus avoiding the rule that you lose at the end of the game turn if you have no models on the table (as you now do).

To the OP : Most people I see take Dual flamers on their drop assault squads, but that may be for C:SM and not Blood Angels.

I do prefer the idea of the Meltagun over plasma though. Far more useful in multiple situations, even with slightly less range. But since you're dropping in, range should not be an issue for at least 1-2 turns.
Powerfist/Axe on tac and assault units is usually a waste of points as well. If you're in combat chances are your sgt is going to be dead before he can swing at I1.
You'd be better off keeping him as bare as possible. Maybe give him meltabombs. If you really want a power weapon on the infantry sgts, I wouldn't go any more than a Power Sword or Maul. Keep your initiative!

Excellent. Glad I'm allowed to field it then.

I've never tried flamers. Mostly cuz i go up against heavy tank fielding eldar and tau so the plasma/mmelta is usually more helpful.

Like the idea of the melta bombs in the sarges though.

Ok I've settle on
HQ
TTycho (with stern guard)
Libby ( with death company)

Troops
10 Assault squad with meltas and melta bombs in drop pod
10 Assault squad with meltas and melta bombs and power sword in drop pod
8 d compan(6 bolters 1 PF 1 TH) in drop pod
D company dread w Magna grapple in drop pod

Elites
Fragioso w Magna grapple in drop pod
Fragioso w magna grapple in drop pod
8 stern guard All with combi meltas in drop pod

Think Elites and d company dread will be the ones I pod down first (mmaybe the d company unit themselves instead of dread but depends on what my opponent has fielded.

But still pondering whether I wanna try corbs.
With tthe libby I can cast shield in opponents turn and then cast in mine with say blood lance. Correct? Or have I interpreted rules wrongly? As I can cast once per turn which usually means player turn and not game turn?
