Subject: 2000 point IG w/ Necron allies vs Cron Air w/ CSM allies
So, after a prolonged absence from this great place, I return for possible advice on my list for an upcoming game. This will probably be my last game with the old Imperial Guard codex before the new one arrives (THEY SHALL ALWAYS BE KNOWN AS IMPERIAL GUARD. RENAMING THEM IS A HERESY!) The opposing force will have a night scythe and a doom scythe and a flying demon prince, so I am bringing some antiair for a good reason. Here we go:
HQ:
Overlord, MSS, Weave, Warscythe -- 120 (My knowledge of Necrons is adequate, not perfect, so correct me if this is wrong)
Troops:
9x Warriors, Ghost Ark -- 232
Fast Attack:
4x Wraiths, whip coils on all -- 180
Total for Necrons: 532
GRAND TOTAL: 2000 on the dot
As for strategy, I will leave my heavy support tanks in the back, hopefully camped in some ruins for cover, with the tech priest running around to tend to or defend his flock. The Chimeras, Hellhound, and foot vets will be ready to hold midfield if there are objectives and the deepstriking stormies and Vendetta should harass the enemy's back lines.
Turn 1, the commander can Bring It Down on his own plasma squad to add to the Hydras effort to annihilate the Prince immediately. Hellhound will rush out to eradicate scarabs before they cause trouble, and Medusas and vets will shoot at anything else deemed threatening.
Turns 2 and/or 3, Vendetta will start hunting vehicles and flyers while the Stormtroopers will drop down behind a sizeable infantry unit with 3+ or 4+ armor, maybe pop a Rhino and fry the Zerkers inside. Unless the Prince is still in the air, Hydras will prioritize Doom Scythe over the Night Scythe-- I can't stand its "draw a line" attack.
The Necron allies can roam freely from my main force, the Overlord will ride in the ark with the warriors that will shoot things, maybe I could MSS the Prince if it gets too close. The wraiths can kill or tarp it whatever, maybe Immortals, maybe Termies, doesn't matter with their 3+ invul. The warriors could spill out onto an objective late game and stay alive forever with reanimation plus the Ark's ability.
This is the current plan. If there's anything that isn't really useful or if I've left myself weak somewhere, please let me know soon, the battle takes place tomorrow.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Correction: Sempiternal Weave (whatever it is) is 15 rather than 10, so I'll balance by removing smoke launchers from the now suicidal Hellhound.

I can't help with IG, but the cron ally's list doesn't look good. Take away the weave on overlord and the ghost ark+Warriors and add tesla immortals.(your overlord with the upgrades you wanted is 130 pts)
