I stumbled on this pic and love the green bio-looking ship. What ship / race is it?

It seems to be a "pathogen X9-V" infected ship, but the only ship of this type released? Also a set of small escorts, but I guess this idea wasn't fleshed out. Looks awesome, though.

Its a Pathogen X9-V Infected Battleship from their marauders and mercenaries line

The Infected
Constant conflict and industrial activity has created vast amounts of highly dangerous devices, weapons and other materials. The by-products of bio-manipulation, cybernetic experimentation and discarded nanotechnology have become a feature of many regions of space. However, something strange has been happening in the areas where concentrations of such material are greatest.

Reports of strangely altered rogue starships have been on the increase. Often they are accompanied by mysterious disappearances, or unnerving encounters where vessels were attacked – or sometimes aided – by unidentified ‘ghost ships’. Some whisper that a whole new species is evolving at an incredibly accelerated rate in the stygian void, feeding on the cast-off debris of war and research. If this is so, who can say what their motives might be? Only time will tell…

Thanks! I had been hoping it was an entire race / line of ships, but it seems to pretty much be a one-off...

It is not a one off actually. We're working on the 2.0 rules for the marauder factions right now and each of the races will be getting starter box sets. The Pathogen will be getting a pretty full roster including the bb and escorts but also getting carriers, cruisers, and frigates. As a force made up of captured ships from other races it will be entirely possible to take these types of ships from others and "infect" them yourself with liberal applications of green stuff then just use the pathogen stats .

That's pretty awesome. I like a lot of the 2.0 ships that are being released.

Will the pathogen be getting a starter box set? I don't think if be up for converting, at least starting out, but if they planned to release more infected ships I'd be all over them

Last word from SG was that all current races will be getting new boxed sets including the Marauder forces. There is still a lot of testing on them to finish though so it will probably be a while before they roll out. Currently all of the core races have the new boxes and from what people have been saying they saw at Salute it looks like they're getting close to having all the alliance races boxed (several of them are already boxed but a handful are getting some new sculpts and a few picked up some new ships with the new edition).

Well, I ended up snagging two of these battleships from Miniature Market at clearance price (thanks to Orlando for tipping me on to it!).

I figure if nothing else, I can use them as derelicts for space combat games. But I would love to see more pathogen ships, these are some of the first that really blew me away design-wise. Absolutely love the look of them in pictures, hopefully they stand up just as well in-person

Man, I really need to get around to painting my Directorate fleet. I have a mad hankering for fleet combat since hearing the DZC news. See -- competition can also be collusion. Next thing you know I'll be being another FA fleet ... such is the life of a miniatures addict.

Yeah, I thought of that, too- it may be that DzC's game actually increases Firestorm Armada's models in popularity. News of that is what got me to pull the trigger on ordering these and a space mat from Deep Cut!
