Good day Eh!
A confused canuck looking for some assistance in coming up with a competitive 100pt list for the Rebels
I have played a fair amount and am comfortable with the game but I am having a heck of a time locking down a list that I am satisfied with
I would like to have 4 ships if at all possible and perhaps this is where the problem lies
I have run three ship combos (trinity, Han shoots first, etc) but they often lack staying power against the inevitable swarms I see
I have a tourny coming up soon so thought I would elicit some assistance from the powerful minds at Dakka
I have multiple copies of most ships bar the Falcon and the HWK 290 (only one of each)
Thanks Dakka!!
Cheers
Papasmurf Automatically Appended Next Post: This is the list I am currently considering but I am not completely confident about it
Garven Dries +R2
Red Squadron +R2
Red Squadron +R2
Red Squadron +R2
Total - 99
thing that worries me is no elite skills :(

The XXBB(Biggs, Rookie, 2x Dagger Squad with Advanced sensors, or something like that.) lists are really popular, also notably one was the winning list at Worlds. It's also fairly fun to play as you get some barrel roll shenanigans and Biggs forced targeting at long range tricks. The Final Fantasy list of Luke, Biggs, and Wedge is competitive, (Trinity I think you called it) also made like top four at a big tourney last year, and like wise is also fun to play around with. If your going for something more vanilla I've been playing around with this list a little and have been finding some niche success.
Biggs Darklighter, R2-F2, Stealth Device
Red Squad, Proton Torpedoes
Rookie Pilot
Rookie Pilot

That Y-wing/B-wing list looks interesting. I'm still concerned with the lack of manueverability and ability to sustain tank (like Luke / R2-D2 / Draw Their Fire can).
You might find this list focused down due to the lack of manueverability. Could be wrong since the Ion Turrets might help cover that shortcoming, but I'm not sure it'll be enough to do the trick.

I'm a sucker for As and Bs, so I've been running that.
2 Blue Squadron B-Wings w/ Advanced Sensors
2 Green Squadron A-Wings w/ Deadeye and Assault Missiles
There's some variation between Blue and Dagger, which missiles, PTL and so on.
So far I really like the firepower and durability of B-wings backed up by the speed and maneuverability of A-wings.

I'm with you Chumbalaya...I'm a fool for those A-Wings for some reason.
OP, to comment on your YYBB list. Perhaps drop the Gray Squadron Pilot to a Gold. Save Two points each for four total. Reason being, the Ion Turret is probably not going to kill anyone with its 1 damage cap, so no need for the Pilot Skill. Additionally, the ion token has no effect during the Combat Phase. With the additional 4 points you could equip one of the Y-Wings with R2-D2 and as the ship trots forward lazily regenerating shields, it can still hit the enemy with its 360 arc on the Ion Cannon Turret.
I'm more a fan of the Blaster Turret. You still get to toss 3 dice at stuff outside your arc even if the Y-Wing gets outmaneuvered.
One issue you may run into is that all 4 ships in a YYBB list are slow. They operate in a smaller circle, maneuvering may get tight.
With an XXBB or AABB list there is a little bit more synergy during the dog fight phase. The B's operate in the inner circle and the more maneuverable ships operate in an outer ring, darting in and out as they amplify the B's firepower...like a dance.
YYBB list looks fun though, tankish. Once the Z-95 comes out I'm going to toy with an outdated Z-95 / Y-Wing squadron.

Thanks for the comments guys
Chumba - that is an interesting looking list I will have to try it out, haven't run many A-wings so that will be the learning curve
Also thought about an Alphabet list
Blue Sq w Adv Sen
Gold Sq w Blaster turret R2D2
Green Sq w PTL
Garven w R2
could always swap the R2s on the two ships
Cheers

How about 5 ship lists? YYBBX is competitive, and although no one will believe me, so is Outer Rim Smuggler and 4 A Wing buddies.

Reverse your PS upgrades. Y-wings don't really benefit from high PS because they don't have any movement actions. All you get is the ability to shoot first, and your B-wings are the real damage anyway. B-wings, on the other hand, really benefit from the PS 4 upgrade because they can barrel roll into a better position. If they're moving after other ships then you'll have a lot more information to work with when you make your barrel roll decisions.

ran the BBYY list on the weekend...it is very tanky...despite the low evade the number of shields and hull to burn through made it very tough to deal with
Liked the list a lot....was wishing i could find points for an engine upgrade on the y wings....boost could get them out of some firing arcs
will try to come up with a list that incorporates that
cheers
