just updated my Nvidia Geforce after a good while (2 years) of being reminded by friends and in games, but now in games I'm getting very low FPS and crashes in some. I then used "Geforce experience" to optimise games, but it set the bar too high with the low FPS so I moved all the settings down, but now nothing's much better.

Did you check for updated drivers for the card?

Were there be dragons....

Did you update the card or the Drivers to start with? If you updated the card - It is worth checking that you have it plugged into the right PCI slot and that you have plugged the cable to you monitor into the new cards ports and not the motherboards. May sound silly but i've plugged it into the motherboard instead of the card before

Do you have Nvidia PhysX turned on? That may cause lag if you're not expecting it to be on.

"So, do please come along when we're promoting something new and need photos for the facebook page or to send to our regional manager, do please engage in our gaming when we're pushing something specific hard and need to get the little kiddies drifting past to want to come in an see what all the fuss is about. But otherwise, stay the feth out, you smelly, antisocial bastards, because we're scared you are going to say something that goes against our mantra of absolute devotion to the corporate motherland and we actually perceive any of you who've been gaming more than a year to be a hostile entity as you've been exposed to the internet and 'dangerous ideas'. When I went on a few days later and went on Nvidia experience (name?) there was an update, seemed small and not even a graphic's card update. Then played hearthstone and it worked as of a updated graphics card driver should, considerably better than before and no lag. BUT tge only game I played was hearthstone and it wasn't for long.

I'll try with another few games and if it's good I'll move onto the next problem on my computer (currently have a few, biggest one is next, and the rest are minor updates) after all this my computer should run like new.

The big problem is an F'ed up cooling system, all the cooling liquid clumped together at a pipe making my computer have to go into overdrive with fans to cool it, making the whole computer lag and it's only been getting worse, initially it was only a loud fan, then laggy games, the final nail in the coffin that got me to work was when my computer just switched off.

Thanks for the help, I got it from here
