I have a tyranid mawloc and I put the rattlesnake tail bit on it. I'd like it to look like an actual rattlesnake tail.

Anyone have tips, suggestions on paints and techniques to get the look?

I'd need to see a picture. I'd probably just paint it a flat bone or white color then wash with agrax earthshad or seraphim sepia though.

Runnin up on ya.

I'd probably go with bone white or some other yellowish white and then a dark wash.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Here's some shots of my rattlesnake tail. Let me know what you think compared to the inspiration shots

4:1 mix of Ceramite White and Averland Sunset, then washed with Nuln Oil, dry brushed with Pallied Wych Flesh, and washed again with Seraphim Sepia

Perfect as to your inspiration, but, it matches the underside too well and doesn't pop like it should, I'd probably dry brush it again with a white or off white
