I really do not thing that the look of the Vendetta & Valkyrie fits with how the Death Korps of Krieg looks like, so I would like to field a count-as. Which of these two are most similar in size to the Valkyrie, and which would be easier to put 3 lascannons on?

The thunderbolt is closer in size - the Valkyrie is a pretty chunky kit.
Having said that, the new lightning is bigger than the old one, and all three are close enough for a decent counts-as. The biggest issue will be the transport capacity, as both the forge world flyers obviously have no transport whatsoever.
Have you thought about tracking down an Aquila Lander? Those had a transport bay and could easily pass for a vendetta?? Forge world stopped selling em, but the dodgy chinese resellers didn't, and ebay might be a good bet...

It's pretty obvious he's talking about the 40k vehicle. As for which is the correct size, the Thunderbolt would definitely be closer. That being said, from a more general standpoint it's hard to convincingly make a dog fighting aircraft to count as a transport drop ship. You may be better off converting something like the Stormraven. Something that looks like it could conceivably support a multitude of troops for transport purposes.

I'm not really looking to have models in the flyers. I just think that the Thunderbolt/Lightning looks way more "Death Korps" than Valkyries. Valkyries look very "Cadian" to me.
Well, I'm gonna go for the Thunderbolt then.

Yeah, if you're not using the transport capacity, it should look fine. Easiest thing with the thunderbolt is to replace all the now weapons with lascannon...
