Hey guys kinda new to 40k, I wanted to try a 'In your face list' so this is what I came up with. I think this list is just over 1500 points

I would put the sternguard in a drop pod instead of the rhino. Also drop the termies and raider and take more troops or your never going to get any objectives. That should also leave you room to take another dreadnaught or a stalker. And finally i would drop the heavy flamer with the sternguard for another combi.

I originally had the Vets in a drop pod, however I thought it wouldn't work too well because half have to come in turn one. Unless I had another empty drop pod to get it all in one turn.

Would it be detrimental to your battle plan if you had a late dropping dreadnaught? Might save him from getting hit turn one

Yeah, true. I will try out both. In hindsight it probably would be better to use the drop pod.

Lysander in a land raider can still be very effective. I prefer to use the redeemer though; it holds 12 models, and the AP3 flamers are great against marine bikes, or anything in cover.

I would take some anti-air, either in the form of a Hunter or a Stormtalon. Normally I would load out the talon with skyhammers but at this points level you may need it to " one shot" heavy fliers like held rakes or storm ravens... I'd try lascannons.

You need more troops. Fortunately, the supplement Sentinels of Terra makes great use of bolters (with close range bolter drill) so you could use that instead of regular Imperial Fists' bolter drill. I would then check out lots of bolter scouts (re rolls on a BS3 model make them pretty good for their price) and back them up with some tactical marines in rhinos. I would avoid heavy weapons on them since you want them moving.

Lastly, Imperial Fists have great devastators, so I'd give some lascannon centurions or lascannon devastators a try. His may even allow you to downgrade the stormtalon back to skyhammers.. Maybe.

Finally, some solid units are always TFCs. It can't hurt to put one of those in the list either. I normally like Sternguard, but unless you have lots of them in a larger game, I don't feel it's worth throwing them away turn 1 anymore in a pod (unless there's lots of other pods coming in).

IMO Lysander isnt worth his points anymore... you can take a Chapter Master with the Shield E. and TH for cheaper and get the pie plate of doom...
Also i would look at taking a xeno inquisitor with servo skulls and psyker 1 (divination) and sticking him with a las/missile dev squad... twinlinked fun and reroll armor pen...

Normally I would run Centurions all with twin linked las and missile launchers. However I wanted to try something different. I do need some anti-air and more troops. I will post a revised list.
