So before I go into my painting hiatus for most of May, here are my Vorreiter for Warzone Resurrection:

I used them as a testbed for the hairspray technique, so I do not have to try it out on some WWII models for real.

Enjoy,

Burkhard

And as always... a pre-view (more clickable pictures on the blog itself):

Good paintjob, but you might wanna drop that bright red background in favor of something more neutral, like black or white or gray. As it is now the bright red is very distracting - you kinda have to make an effort to focus on the model/paintjob.

Just my 2 cents, though. Do as you see fit!

Thanks Tim?!

To be honest the background is not to my liking either. The first minis were shot on my old snow boards. Too little contrast. So I looked at the backdrop cloths I have. White would not work either, black was too dark and blue provided too little contrast with the blueish greys. Which left only the red, which was the least of all evils, but did not work fie for the reason mentioned by you.

The funny thing is... While I was typing this my better half saw the pictures as well. She asked why I had not photographed the. On my old tan desert boards. I said "well, desert would not be their natural environment". Her comment was "oh, and red is their natural environment". I guess this settles it and the next ones will be photographed with a tan backdrop!
