500 points could be better spent on 2x chimeras and 2 leman russes of any flavor.

I would drop the land raiders and go with an executioner w/ plasma sponsons (perfect candidate for prescience) and then whatever Leman Russ you like and the two chimeras.

I also think that you vets cannot embark on a transport from another detachment; might want to check validity of that.

-Executioner w/ Sponson Plasma-Cannon
-Exterminator w/ Sponson Multi-Melta
-Punisher w/ Sponson Heavy Bolter OR Sponson Multi-Melta

Does the community have any opinions about selecting a Russ?

I am a big fan of the vanquisher with hull lascannon and either MM or PC sponsons, PC sponsons allow the tank to hunt elite infantry and wound a little more horde if there are truly no other big threats or armor left to fire at, and the MM's just add more anti tank/ big threats. Its been my go to tank since russes got the heavy rule.

Might be worth it to slide a flyer over to the allied detachment so you have a little more flexibility w/ deployment (won't always have to deepstrike the scions to be effective).

I am not a fan of the exterminators right now, definitely think you need some first turn AT; maybe a vanquisher w/ lascannon instead of one? Prescience it to try and knock out enemy AA or interceptors so your reserves have clearer skies.

Execution w/ Sponsors PC are incredible. I recommend at least 1 in most armies. Seriously, the ability to just blow away anyone and his dogs elite infantry is absolutely brutal. They have single handedly won me games in the past.

I'll echo this, Vanqs are really great.

What are your Vultures using Gunny?

@ rryannn -- I totally feel you about the first turn AT. Do you think Executioners with Sponson PC are enough to seal the deal? Or do we need Vanquisher w/ LC?

@ Sparkadia -- Oh gosh, I totally forgot to say that the vultures are taking the Twin-Linked Punisher Cannons. It's become so second-nature in my list-writing that I forgot to add it. Editing post now.

I updated the list in the OP to reflect your guys' feedback. Dropped the Exterminator/MM in exchange for Vanquisher/LC, and dropped the Vendetta in exchange for Executioner/PC. Five points over, but I'll find something to drop later if this is the final version of the list.

VS AV10-12, the executioner w/ lascannon and plasma cannons should be successful, it gets marginally worse once you go over that. The deepstriking melta guns and vendetta should be able to get you over the AV 13/14 hump.
