Hi Dakka, I'm posting two lists that I commonly use when I play as Chaos Daemons, and another one that I intend to play soon. I'm looking for peoples opinions on which list they like more, and if they would consider this cheese/ wouldn't want to play against it at 1000 points

List 1
Lord of Change - 2 greater, 1 lesser, +1 Psychic level

10x Horrors - Incandescent horror
10x Horrors - Incandescent horror

Soulgrinder - Slaanesh Torrent flamer
Soulgrinder - Slaanesh Torrent flamer
Soulgrinder - Khorne Phlegm Cannon

I like soul grinders, as this list shows. The LoC is just a great all round HQ choice. Horrors have Incandescents to help prevent losing the warlord to a bad roll on the warpstorm table (+ Precision shots if your group allows it).
The phlegm grinder is not nurgle, as the opponent will simply shoot the other grinders instead.

List 2
Fateweaver
Lord of Change - 1 greater, 1 lesser

10x Horrors
10x Horrors

Daemon prince, tzeentch, armour, wings, grimoire.

Obviously an attempt to get the basis of the flying circus into 1000 points. The LoC and the DP are both weaker than they would be in a higher points games, but sacrifices had to be made. The list still has fatey and the grimoire for 2++ rerolls.

List 3
Lord of Change - 2 greater, 1 lesser, +1 Psychic level
Lord of Change - 2 greater, 1 lesser, +1 Psychic level

11x Horrors - Incandescent horror, Standard
11x Horrors
11x Horrors

Bastion

This is the list I am currently considering I like Lords of Change, so this list has 2. The bastion will have the larger horrors squad inside, hopefully keeping them safe and letting them put some fire out on the middle of the board. It will also make a bigger effective area to safely depstrike my units due to the banner inside, and will also block the LoC on the first turn.

i like list 3 the most, but swap a LoC for Fatey and a greater and lesser off the LoC for Grim since fatey so badly needs it. I'm not really seeing the point of the standard or incandescent horror in the 11 man unit since they should be hiding inside of the bastion and thus wouldn't be able to get charged or have their character explode. i would probably move those over to other units of horrors or just plain and simple drop them for more horrors in other units as well for ML2.

Thanks, I had already been toying with the idea of Fateweaver. I'll probably try both and see which I prefer, but it certainly has potential.

The standard is there to guide units in that deepstrike. I may keep 2 of my troops in reserve to keep them out of harms way, the standard will let them drop around the bastion with no risk of scattering.

The incandescent is included because I had 5 points left, but he does have some value. I believe he is still effected by the warpstorm whilst inside the building, so might protect the LoC from a bad warp table result. Also, and this is up for debate, he may give precision shots to flickering fire.

Fun? In all seriousness he is a bad choice which doesn't serve any practical use. Use the model for a Herald of Tzeentch on foot if you have it.

Fluff? Fun? Or maybe a themed army with a cool backstory... Not really too good other than that. His unique ability is geared for cc which is where you never want your horrors anyways. He's only a level one so he doesn't really add anything shooting wise , just doesn't work real well with the unit he's supposed to tag along with.

List 3. LoC's are pretty sweet, daemon princes are too hit or miss for me.
