So we're in a keeper league and this is the last year I can keep Trout.

Trade deadline is not until August, but some entertaining offers have come my way.

Now Trout is one of the best players currently in MLB, but the trade is more about control of players for the next 3 years.

Who are some folks I should consider with trading Trout and have control over?

CarGo, Jose Abreau, Anthony Rendon??? I'm just as likely to keep Trout all year vs. letting him go for nothing.

if your trading trout for anything other then a top 5-7 then its a waste and in all honesty if your giving another play control of trout for the next 3 years you should be able to get a kings bounty for him

That's what I figured as well.

Better to wait until later in the season or trade now?

Probably later in the year, I don't play fantasy sports, but from the amount I watch, we cant really get a very good grasp on a guys' outlook until around the A-S break, unless they are just having a monster year.

Man. I'm not sure there's any instance I'd trade trout.

from his OP, he isn't allowed to keep him... which definitely puts ya in a jam.

I'd go for broke... get Clayton Kershaw, Hamels, Strasburg, Bryce Harper... EVERYONE, lol

Lol, as I said, I dont play fantasy sports, so i dont really pay much attention, except to my "Evil Empire"... and that new pitcher, Takeda (?) seems to be doing amazingly.

Oh gak. I misread that in the OP.

I'd take Harper and a T2 pitcher. Harper has plenty of future value and the pitcher would offset the fact that he's hurt right now.

Only player I'd trade for straight up is probably mccutcheon. I like miggy, but he's a bit older.

If you're looking at the pitcher as the big score, obviously Kershaw is the home run. But I'd still package him. Get him with a guy like justin Upton or Elvis Andrus.

I have Andrus and Matsusaka already. I have a really strong team, but I don't want to trade him away for nothing.

I think I will get better offers (provided no one gets hurt) closer to the All-Star game.

Alright, here's the most current offer sent:

Mike Trout
Jason Werth
Tyler Clippard

for

Brian Dozier
Jacoby Ellsberry
Will Meyers
David Price

Sorry for the bump, but this was the only baseball thread I could find on here. I didnt want to start a new thread. Basically, I'm needing to get a late graduation present for one of my friends son. He is really into baseball so I figured I would buy him a bat. The problem is is that I basically do not know much about the sport or its equipment.

I've been looking on sites like http://www.fatswing.com/Baseball-Bats_c_21.html and http://slugger.com/bats/ but have yet to find a bat I think she will be best with. He is a right hander and 17 if that makes a difference.

Does anyone have recommendations of sites to use to buy baseball bats online? What is the best brand for a youth? Louisville Slugger? Easton?

Thanks!

I like Louisville but Easton is a good choice as well.
