So was wondering in how could I make painting Dark Eldar vehicles better? as so far with my venom, raider and current painting in progress Hellion's skimmer boards are given a whole purple paint over (apart from the cracks to do highlighting) but the purple I use ends up feeling quite chalk like.

Is that normal or is there something i'm doing wrong with the purple base paint?
