This is my first list since the new codex, I havent had a chance to play it yet. However disclaimer, my local meta lacks the amount of fliers that seem to be so popular elsewhere..

Command Tank Vanquisher
lascannon&MMs
Vanquisher
Lascannon&MMs 360

ADL and Quadgun 100

Troops

Platoon

Chimera 116

With the vanq's and multimelta's do you intend them to be a ranged anti-tank and then use the mm's to take down deepstrikers?

True. What's the overall plan with the list on the table? Regular opponents army types? I'm really keen on the new wyverns as I field three griffons or four quad launchers...haven't bought any (yet).
This maybe me but I tend to field more LR's as you can't go far wrong. Are the autocannons you MC counters?

Tau and ork are my most common 2 enemies. Im pretty aggressive. I usually only leave my vanquishers and vets behind the ADL with yarrick, I will leave the bullgryns back to help counter anything that gets too close, or any deepstrikes. AC are the MC counter along with vanquishers if needed. and the vets.

I'm fighting riptides soon...hows the list going to counter those? plasma? And for the veterans dropping the lascannon? One shot at BS4...im a gambler by nature and seen as you said about no fliers in your meta perhaps the adl and quad and the MM's on the vanquishers and using those points for either more wyverns or more AV14? Or more Bullgryns? Then mount the vets in the chimera and mobile plasma drive by's

I only bought one box of bullgryns. im considering another for more. I know my friend doesnt have a riptide yet, but the moment he gets one im dropping in my ratlings to deal with it.
I considered dropping the LC to AC.

Its not "no flyers" but i havent encountered flyer spam yet.

If i could squeeze points for another Russ what do you purpose?

I've never fought tau in my meta we play a big tourney every three months where we go away and each player writes a 1000 or 1500pt list we randomly match up and fight against all comers this means I usually bring a variety of russes to deal with anything. I've always found that the executioner can be worth its weight in gold (nails mc's and teq) but it has been nerfed but got a price drop (don't have my astra militarum yet)..against Orks due to the new low price of the eradicator that could perform a dual plan of destroying Ork blobs with kff's and maybe destroy light vehicles. Could also clean out tau pathfinders with ignore cover..although ap4 against battlesuit saves isn't so great. If you've ever come across the heavy mortar batteries from forgeworld I've got a lot of time for those....

How about thudd guns? i currently dont have them but it seems pretty mixed some love them some would rather use the wyvren.

I use four. They rock. At ten points I think lower then the wyvern they swap some of the fun rules for a -1 pinning and the potential for 16blasts at the cost of a demolisher (old price) for a battery: they can bring some serious pain to blobs, elite units and deathstars. If it was a competitive game put a inquisitor with a psycholum (spelt wrong) for bs10 against psykers! Good luck with your game: artillery is durable against tau (I'd imagine) and LR's durable as sin against Orks until powerclaws and dethrolla's come to play! Do you have any hellhounds?

I only have one hellhound, modeled as a banewolf actually.
i like the idea of thudd guns but its quite a financial commitment. they are so expensive money wise and then the IA book on top of it.

I proxied them for a while. Truthfully mine are kitbashed but have just bought two and getting another two soon. I do have four of the heavy mortar models..those I love. With IA12 I use them with carcass...(drop st but add ignore cover and rend although gets hot)
How many russes do you have? Definitely try a executioner for three or more games (have you used one before?) I hated the points sink before but then I realised why people called it god tier..versatile. It has had a serious nerf in the new codex though...
And I always make room for hellhounds..fast attack and torrent-ignore cover does wonders..although the armour is paper thin.

I have 7. they are all the oldschool russes before the new models/variants came out.

So i have 5 with battle cannon/Lascannon/Hbolters

1 Demo/las/Hbolters

and 1 Vanquisher/lascannon no sponsons.

Ill have to proxy no matter what i do.

Get some pipe and give yourself some new vanquishers? Also you can pick up some LR weapons from the interweb quite cheap. I'm really keen on picking up one of the LR destroyers from forgeworld but it's an investment..may model one from an old hull from ebay, not as good as a vanq but it's awesome in the gaunt book!
Drop a battle report when you have the game! I'd be interested to see how you go against tau (got a city fight and the first time I've fought them coming up) I'd run those LR's and see how they fare

Do you know what? I'm not sure!! I havev a range going back to 2nd edition; it doesn't matter if your just swaping sponson or hull weapons..
Turret wise I have one forgeworld vanquisher and one I've converted by adding a co-axial heavy stubber and a piece of pipe to make the cannon. I saw a way of making a really cool muzzle (can't remember the tech name) to the end...but it looks cool. I reckon with a bit of green stuff or some magnets and tools you could swap in the weapons. have you used any valks, vendetta's or vultures? My next purchase is an avenger strike fighter.......we run one flier per list limit no special characters usually..

I would like a vulture. I currently dont have any flyers. Most people I play with dont have a problem with me proxying russes as I choose so it hasnt been a concern of mine. If i had new tanks where all the options came in the boxes i would have done magnets for sure.

At present I am running a horde of converted death korps riders (using perry miniatures civil war cav with pig iron heads) trying to work out how to gasmask the horses before painting...they a huge improvement over regular rough riders. Seen as you are so keen on attack you should have a look. They are vulnerable to heavy weapons ID them but have double the wounds of rough riders and double initiative (it works out to) on the charge at st6. When that works out its killed plague ogyrns and whole swathes of standard troops. Risky but fun in a charge of the light brigade style. Should say if this new 'unbound' nonsense allows it and your opponents don't mind that...it's not that OP

Are you using forge world rules for DoK?

You can download the pdf of the siege regiment for free. I use the assault brigade from 1A12.. it's not competitive (in my opinion and my gaming groups little tourneys) but is fun in casual gaming. My mini's are renegade miniatures British and german soldiers with a head swap and weapon swap (for characters and leaders). Would of been cheaper to buy forgeworld! But I wanted salvar chem dogs with artillery. You using cadians or catachan? (I'm tempted by mordian and praying they release new box sets)

I have some of both. I usually use cadian as vets and catachan in blobs. I like DKoK i like the fluff, the melee aspect and the amount of rough riders. Forgeworld stuff is just so expensive.

sorry if I'm preaching and you already know about these sites...Have you checked out pig iron heads? A Lot of people on these forums use them and they have variety. I use some of the heads for my veterans whilst using anvil miniatures weapon sets for shotguns and hellguns!
You can make a sweet vet force using them! What's the fluff behind your regiment?

Ive never looked into them before. Im actually currently debating on wargames factory shock troops for some cheap conscripts.

I dont really have any fluff. Ive been playing for years and hardly have anything painted. Im a terrible painter. I have tried multiple times but i have no patients, and ide rather spend my money on more units that $200 of paint haha. Im awful from the hobby aspect.

Same. Like fluff, like making my own units and greenstuff...hate painting. strongly dislike hence the profusion of gas masked heads and all green camo :s
http://shop.princeaugust.ie/warzone-mutant-chronicles-wargame/warzone-games-expansion-sets/tg2420-1-warzone-mutant-chronicles-bag-of-80-plastic-soldiers/
They have gone up in price by 5quid but my mate chops the heads off them and replaces with pig iron mutant heads and he has 80 renegade militia...
They are cool little models..for about 60quid you can have 160 infantry and add another 20 for heads...easy paint job as well...go renegade!!
Some advice now! I'm playing a tyranid player whose running his interpretation of a unbound list...he's a bit of power gamer...I need to run a list to counter a maxed tyranid list...advice! I'm thinking three vultures with punisher and lots of infantry in chimera's with autocannon+flamers...help! how did your list go as well?
