I don't expect to face much armour (especially if facing off vs my Iyanden Eldar), and no fliers. I'm basically using stuff from the starter set until I decide which way I want to go...

Chapter master, auspex, Monster Slayer 140
Librarian, lvl 2 100

tac sqd, plasma cannon, plasma gun 170
tac sqd, plasma cannon, plasma gun 170

DW terms, AC 240
DW terms, AC 240
DW terms, AC 240

3 RW bikes, plasma, meltabombs 100
3 RW bikes, plasma, meltabombs 100

1500pts

I don't really need the meltabombs on the bikes, but not much else i can add with what comes in set, perhaps something for Librarian.

obviously it has a lot of plasma (will add other weapons as the army grows) but the plasma will be fine vs my wraith army.

when I expand I will probably add some sniper scouts, a pair of attack bikes (maybe) with multimeltas, and maybe a dread in drop pod. of course I will also add Belial and some knights. I'm not keen on most of the marine armour, so will pass on that for now. landspeeders OK and will eventually add to the RW part of the force, but think I want to go Deathwing initially.

Looks like two DV sets with an extra terminator squad. I like running my Libby with a PFG to give 4++ saves to his unit. It's fine to use this to learn.

You want to think about heavy support though. A Land Raider or something. If you want to run bikes and terminators I would suggest azrael over belial.

Well, I like the sound of the list.
However, both HQs are very slow and therefore not very effective.

The Twilight Zone

If you want to expand into bikes, the attack bikes are a great call. Do take Azreal if you want both, but if you just want 2 3 man bike squads and attack bikes to support terminators that can work too.

If you have both box sets, run 2 libbys, with your choice of wargear, like a power field generator, maybe a combi weapon.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I don't have 2 sets, just picked up some items on ebay. I plan to have enough to do a variety of forces. Number one will be Deathwing with a couple of scout platoons in support. Also want to go basic Angels with some tac sqds (I know people don't like them) etc. Will need to play with them for awhile before I decide which way to go.
