Hi guys!
Tomorrow I'm facing my friend who is laying Chaos. I'm not too sure what he's going to bring but can be sure there will be a Landraider with Beserkers(?) and a fully kitted out demon prince. With that in mind, I put together a quick iist that (Hopefully) will be able to hold its own.

HQ

Commander
Command and control node, Puretide chip, Iridium battlesuit - 140pts

Cadre Fireblade
Markerlight, photon grenades, pulserifle - 60pts

Troops

Firewarrior Team
x10 firewarriors, Pulserifle - 90pts

Firewarrior Team
x10 firewarriors, Pulserifle - 90pts

Kroot squad
x10 Kroot, Sniper rounds - 70pts

x10 Kroot, Sniper rounds - 70pts

Fast Attack

Pathfinder squad
x6 Pathfinders, carbine, markerlight - 66pts

Pathfinder squad
x6 Pathfinders, carbine, markerlight - 66pts

Elite

Riptide
Ion accelerator, Twin-linked fusion baster, Stimulant injector, velocity tracker - 240pts

XV8 Crisis Team
x3 Crisis suits, plasma rifle x6 - 156pts

XV8 Crisis Team
x3 Crisis Suits, missile pods x6 - 156pts

Heavy

Hammerhead Gunship
Longstrike, Railgun, Twin-linked SMS - 170pts

Hammerhead
Railgun, twin-linked SMS - 125pts

1499pts

So there it is. At the moment, I'm thinking of combining the Kroot squads into one blob to snipe the heck out of anything scary that comes my way (Demon Prince) as well as maybe switching the missile pods on the crisis suits to plasma, and have to dual plasma suits. Finally, I need to shave some points for submunition rounds on one or both of the hammerheads.
General strategy is going to be to sit in my deployment zone with my troops and whittle down threats with mass firepower. With 40 troop models, as well as the fireblade I should be able to pepper him with small arms fire whilst dealing with the bigger threats with the rest of my army. Hopefully, this will either split his army in two, one half after the troops whilst the second after my more hard hitting units or his whole force will move towards one half (Troops or more dangerous units) and allow the unengaged half to lay down more pressure and catch him between a pincer.

Thoughts?

Throw him on the dual plasma suits. Have him upfront with the 2+, re rolls to hit and ignore cover.

I agree about taking a second squad of dual plasma. With the buffmander helping out, they will be twin linked and re rolling to wound against the prince. Consider one squad of dual fusion, which are also strong against the prince/marines, but can threaten the land raider.

You can downgrade your fireblade to an ethereal. You lose out on the extra shot at full range, but gain an additional shot at half range, as well as the other invocations should you need them. Having a 6+ FNP is never a bad thing. Taking an ethereal over a fireblade frees up points for submunitions.

I would toss the stim injector from the riptide. The velocity tracker is OK since your looking at a flying prince, maybe even a drake, but you don't need the stims. The 5++ is good enough, and close to the ethereal you can get a 6+ FNP for free. If the prince gets into combat with the tide your dead anyways, so no point trying to save em. Spend the points to get your commander some extra toys like an MSSS, maybe an onager gauntlet and/or neuroweb jammer if points allow.

With a full land raider and prince barreling down against you, that will be around half their army or more, so once you deal with those you should be OK. Ground the prince then bury it in plasma. Railguns can instagib it if it does not get iron arm, but longstrike and the other railhead are your primary Av14.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Have you thought about putting him with the Riptide?

Have you considered bringing some broadsides to the party?

Given that you know for a fact that you've got to get a DP and LR before they get to you, more Railguns is never a bad idea.

Edit: I agree with the above that more plasma is a good idea.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have gone with switching the Etherel in for Fireblade as this is the first time I'm using him, would I place him in a squad of firewarriors and use him to buff from there? Or hide him away in the deepest, darkest place in my deployment?
As for Broadsides, I only have one at the moment, he is awaiting some reinforcements once money allows me too. Otherwise, a squad of those would have most certainly been in my list.

I like running the ethereal in a squad or behind BLOS terrain. He has no armor so needs that 2+ LoS! The trick is keeping him were his 12" bubble can touch atleast 2 other squads besides his. Pathfinders with 3 pinning shots each at 9inches is real handy for them.

I put him in my firewarrior squad and deployed them very defensively, meaning my oppenent had to come to me where he was ripped apart by supporting fire when he tried to charge the squad. My have to get an actual model of him now

Something I like doing with missile pod crisis suits is putting a commander in there with missile pods and drone controller. Give the entire squad marker drones and the suits target lock.

This gives you BS5 markerlights that JSJ and a pile of missiles that can target somewhere else.

You get so many lights from this you can probably cut down pathfinders too (Who generally I find less useful in games being squishy and unable to move and shoot MLs).
