Hey guys been a while since I've been here lol, and finishing my pre heresy death guard I want a new army

I tried to make it sort of fluffy but I can't do with out razorbacks :p also there is next to no flyers in my local meta if there was I would adapt to deal with it

Just being blunt, I think this list needs adjustments in many places to take advantage of what makes IF really good. Here's where I'm at:

You need a Captain in order to take the command squad, so either upgrade to Lysander or downgrade to a Captain.

If you're gonna take the command squad as melee, give them a nice assault transport (Land Raider Redeemer) and fully commit. Get some more assault weapons in there along with some storm shields and melta bombs. Since you're using the burning blade already, maybe add some grav pistols in there to take advantage of the concussive + burning blade combo (expensive but cool!)

Drop the dreadnought to help fund the LRR. The biggest problem with Dreadnoughts is getting them safely into close combat.. And then, the Ironclad shines the brightest. At range, they can still be one-shotted fairly easily. If you are dropping him in alone, they will have enough time to handle him before the rest of you army advances far enough.

As for the troops, they need transports. I'd commit to pods or rhinos. Either way, leave the heavy weapons at home because these guys will always be on the move taking objectives; a matching combi and special is nice. Three plasma squads in rhinos comes in around 600.

I'd consider scouts with IF bolter drill either as a 10 man outflanking bolter squad or in a land speeder storm w/heavy flamer. Both weigh in around 100 points.

The devs are great with tank hunter, but I think lascannons are the best way to go. The range means they'll really have to commit a lot of firepower to take them out which gives your close combat units more time to get in there. I also like extra bodies in there to absorb wounds.. You don't want each wound to cost you 34 points and diminish their damage output.

All that being said, it doesn't leave much room for razorbacks, unfortunately. I don't have much advice for them, I don't think they are good. It's too easy to destroy them in one shot, and the damage they put out isn't worth 75 points IMO.

Here's my take on this list after some of these changes:

Captain - art armor, burning blade, grav pistol

Command Squad - apothecary, banner, 3x power axe + bolt pistol + melta bombs, storm shield + melta bombs (absorb overwatch fire and look out sirs)

Scouts (10) - bolters
Tacticals (10) - rhino, plasma, combi-plasma
Tacticals (10) - rhino, plasma, combi-plasma

Devastators (10) - 4x lascannon
Vindicator - siege shield
Land Raider Redeemer - multimelta

Thanks for the input and blunt it good :p

I completly forgot a CM can't have a command squad so he will be getting down graded. And him and the command squad are more to deal with enemy units that get into cc either to intersept them or help out the assaulted unit.

I know dreadnoughts arnt very good but I love the contemptors and I have a pretty sweet conversion idea for one so he is an auto include. And with the kheres assault cannon I think it makes a pretty decent ranged weapon aswell ??

I will also drop the heavy weapons because all the assault cannons and vindicator there is plenty of anti-infantry


Me and scouts/ lascannons don't get on lol

And as for a land raider they are a massive bullet magnet and quite often not earning there points.

Extra bodies will be added to the devastators after the rework and possibly rhinoes to the tac's they can't really have drop pods lol
