Holy. Freaking. Amazeballs.

This was the most fun I've had learning a new tabletop game (that's out of the GW main games, WM/H, Infinity and Dystopian Wars). I ran the Viktorias box, minus a Ronin (for the extra soul stones). I ended up losing everyone but the Student of Conflict (who downed a Belle, if that's how its spelled. What a little champ). One of my opponents ran Shaemus (spelling again) with a few belles, the boss belle, a puppy and a copycat killer. The other ran Mei Fang (yeah yeah, spelling again...sorry), Kane, and a few other construct/living models, and some sort of kobold-demon-y looking things. I'm really good at this whole unit names thing, as you can tell.

Anyway, the highlight of the game was Viktoria of the Blood making an attack, whirlwinding at the other 5 people around her, making an attack, whirlwinding, making an attack, whirlwinding...2 turns in a row. I nearly killed Shaemus 2 turns running (got him up to 10 damage each time), but then failed Willpower checks from the Belles doing their thing got him back to good health each time. Ah well, it was just really fun, and in my euphoria I felt compelled to share.

Glad you enjoyed it! Seamus is a really, REALLY tough master to kill, and belles are generally regarded as one of the best units in the game (or outright broken depending on who you ask), so that's a tough matchup for anyone's first game. One of the great things about the game is how point driven it is. My crew has been nearly wiped out and I've still managed wins.

Ok so sticking with the Viktorias, I was thinking of expanding my crew by adding Vanessa, but I couldn't find a model for her. Am I just failing at google, or is she not released yet? She's the sister enforcer who can heal and cast fireballs and what not, if that helps.

Just started malifaux this week myself with a similar feeling of 'awesome!!'. Victoria and Shaemus are both on my list of masters to pick up though I think my girlfriend will beat me to getting the viks.

Vanessa was one of the later plastics just before 2e dropped. The warstore says they have her. http://www.thewarstore.com/product79765.html

Ah cool, thanks. Go go gadget google fail then. Does her healing ability heal the rest of the viks? I'm still new, but it seems like it should, unless that's technically not a healing flip, and is just healing, or something like that.

I think that would be great though, if it worked.

Her card is in the second wave pdf that is still available on the Wyrd site. And her healing isn't just for the viks but all sisters. So any one you give the howling wolf to and the student of conflict as well.

I think so long as you have to make a flip to resolve the healing it counts as a healing flip so her 2/3/4 healing ability should count? I'm new to this as well but that's how I think it would play out.

That's what I'm thinking. Cheers for the help. That's a nice amount of healing between her ability and if I manage to kill anyone with my henchman vik.

New question...

Who's a good second master for outcasts? I'm thinking the Viks will be good with murder/mayhem sort of missions, but because of their nature they will struggle with take-and-hold ground sort of missions, so I'm looking for my next Outcast master to deal with these sort of problems, and I'm leaning towards Von Schill and his Friekorps, simply because they have armour on basically everyone. Are they a pretty hard sort of crew to put down usually, and thus do pretty well at take and hold missions? Or are they actually fragile, and I can't see it yet. Do you have any recommendations for a different master?
