Hey guys, recently I heard a rumour that they might be replacing some of the old ork and blood angel models with the new codices, and considering the quality of newer models, I'll be replacing my metal ghazgull model with the shiny new one (if he is, in fact, remade) and wondered if his body parts could be put to good use.

So while messing about through my army I thought about fusing the aobr warboss with some of his bitz, the primary idea being swapping the power klaw arms.

So have any of you guys seen any half decent conversions of the sort? I want to check the water before cutting the centrepieces of my army to pieces of course.

You don't think I already tried that?...

Well I did and could not find any of the conversions that I had in mind

Eh.

If you haven't glued the AOBR boss together, you could pull him apart and start eyeing up where each part of it could go in relation to ol' Gazy.

The problem is that they have both been glued up for a bong time and it seems ive done a pretty good job because not once have either of then fallen apart (much to my disappointment now)

Got two Ork characters that you might like (maybe for inspiration):

AOBR Boss made into Big Mek. nice example of powerclaw hand switch.

chaos ogre (forgeworld) conversion:

maybe this helps...a little...

the aobr mek looks great, some of the ideas I had in mind were just simply giving the aobr warboss gazghull's PK arm, or mixing and matching to create two separate warboss/mek models.

And though try as I might, I just can't picture any of these in my head (gork is messing with my head)

I'm good with imagination.

Putting Ghazy's klaw onto the AOBR boss should fit alright, if it doesn't, slap some bits of plastic (SM Pauldrons, those circular armour plates boyz get) on until it does. Looks kinda badass the way I see it.
You could give Ghazy the AOBR boss' shotgun stuff with some careful saw work, and replace it with moar bitz to make it look like some cobbled together 'eavy armour or whichever one gives a 2+ save.
