Hey there everyone, yet another new member, been looking about the boards for months but every time I think of registering I hit upon a thread and read all night then forget lol.
Anyway. my names Jeff. I'm from N.Ireland and returning to the hobby of my childhood. and loving it. Well.... loving everything except the prices now !!!! Holy crap! Dropping into GW belfast to pickup a 'few' paints turned into a rather large bag and a bill that made my eyes water, doubled my paint collection and look kinda cool in my studio/office/library/man cave thing so its not all bad.
Still tho its quite soul destroying when you return and start painting only to find your eyes got crap, hands shake and the mini looks crap at the end, too much time using airbrushes my hands cant deal with what made me love painting in the the first place!!

Just thought I'd say hi in here before asking advice in another area ( havent looked up where yet tho ) but ill edit with a link for anyone thats feeling up to a lateish night of rambling about colours.

And welcome!! Since you are a constant air brush user, I'm sure you are more artistic than me.

lol nope not at all I cant draw at all but there's more than one way to skin a cat as they say and 90% of effective techniques utilize masks and stencils so very very nice effects can be accomplished with minimal artistic talent but loads of practice. Id give up a kidney if I could acquire some actual art skills!!!!
if you can do dagger strokes in any width and length first time, every time you can do just about anything with an airbrush.

Hehe you haven't seen my minis yet. There are some rather dreadful ones.

I'm slowly improving with the brush. Hopefully i can branch out to air brush soon.

Hehe it does indeed suck a lot when you know you can do better but it's just not happening. Dropped a mini off in gw belfast for a small competition and a bit of banter today, it looks ok but trying to get to grips with all the new paints and their shading etc is quite a task. I keep going to the paint shelf and looking for something and my hands keep straying to the old colors I still have.
It's amazing the stuff you gather up in this hobby tho , I went up to my parents house today and had wee look in the attic, kinda blown away by how much stuff I just randomly bought cos it looked cool and never bothered painting it. Space marine battle forces predator tanks land raider and bikes.... Didn't even know I had them. Tons and tons of epic/space marine/Titan legion stuff too which I absolutely loved playing. Pity it's vanished from the line up.
