Just got a new phone and it's got a sweet camera so I thought I'd finally post some legitimate pics. This was a shakedown cruise wargame as we we're getting used to the format and the new Corvette. 300pts per side. Just a showcase of the setup and then the most awesome furball reengagement that only had ONE out of ELEVEN ships bump. Yeah, were that good
TEST POST/THREAD! Please advise if there's a better way to post this!

I would have just flown my X-Wings away from that swarm and let the CR90 fly right at that mass to force them to disperse, all the while using a Reinforce action to drastically reduce damage from the TIE swarm, and quad lasers firing.
The primary weapon and the single turbolaser can shoot down the shuttle pretty quickly to deny any buffs it would give. It's also always still worth it to fire that single turbolaser at high defense ships if you have the extra energy, since attack dice are more effective than defense. Even rolling 6 defense dice is no guarantee that you'll escape unscathed.

Not to well, and yet there was much to be seen. My initial attack had a group of four Saber squads pushing the limit to get in close under the main guns umbrella, some awkward crits on the two lead ships made me adjust quickly but they blasted Horton Salms Y-wing down to 1 hull and the Forward Section had lost its shields and four hull before the two survivors of the squad had to break off and regroup. When the TIE fighters showed up and destroyed the remains of the escort fighters it looked like big trouble as I had only lost two interceptors and three fighters and the shuttle was about to dive into the nose of the 'vette. So 4 interceptors and 6 fighters vs CR90? Unfortunately the shop was closing so we had to nod our wings at each other and fly out. :( My plan was to continue circling in and out on the 'vette targeting whatever section was weakest or at least not reinforced that turn forcing him to either charge weapons or recharge shields. But we'll never know how that went. Next time though...
Edit: @Vertrucio unfortunately due to asteroid setup and deployment the strategy you mention is kind of iffy. Most of the asteroids were on one side of the map so if I saw the CR90 turn to engage them I dive deeper into the asteroids and let him pound himself up a bit while the interceptors get to work on the escort then come in hot on the Aft section of the 'vette with them and he then has a squad on his front AND back, personally I think that's the best way to fight the thing so far.also by trying to out flank the TIE swarm he was trying to pincer them in between the CR90 and the X-wings, almost succeeded too if I had followed my original plan which he had every reason to suspect. Then again it was a wargame simulation to get used to the big ship and such so maybe not. I was surprised he didn't just bring assault missiles and force me to disperse from the get go. The CR90 is just too slow to really disrupt several small groups of fighters formations without exposing itself. Also the shuttle spent most of it's time out of range of the main guns so that the shields were sure to be down when it rolled up and used Darth Vader.

Sadness. Sounds like the CR90 driver could have done some things a little better, but all in all a good fight!

In his defense he's got like a 70% win rate against me and isn't used to rebels as he mostly plays Imps
