Under the couch

Back in early 2000, for GW's Laniena III Roadshow here in Australia, Matt Weaver built an 'Icarus class' Drop Pod model. They cast up only 200 of these, which were sold exclusively at the Roadshow.

I picked up a couple of them on eBay a while back, but decided in the end that I really didn't need more than one, so the extra is now up on eBay here

(item number 8795615756 or seller under_the_couch if you would prefer to access the listing through somewhere other than eBay.com.au)

Even though I wont be buying that, it is a very interesting take on the drop pod idea.

The use of landspeeder engines seems cleaner, though I dont like the doors very much.

Thanks at least for showing those of us who have never seen the model.

You should send a copy of the pics to stuff of legends so that they can have a few pics of that rare model.

@Hellfury, why is that cat so angry?

Sorry for the offtopic question.

Someone has to be the avenging angel who keeps GW inline, though I think carmen does a better job.

Already taken care of

The pics of this little fellow also popped up on Warseer, where the general concensus seemed to be that it was obviously a fake, as no-one had ever seen these before

So, in case anyone's wondering: No, it's not a fake. It wasn't released anywhere other than Australia, and even there it was only released in limited quantities at a specific event... but it's a GW-built model. My own Drop Pod plans are completely different, and don't use GW parts.
