I don't know if there's anyone else out there with a small child who is obligated to watch a seemingly endless stream of children's television, but if there are, then I assume at least some of you are familiar with Peg + Cat!

I put this show on while I'm having my morning coffee even if my son isn't awake yet.

In any event, although they're a relatively new show (less than a year old) they're up for four daytime Emmy awards! (Children's Preschool Animated Program, both the lead voice talents are up for Best Performer in an Animated Program, and the producer is getting an award for Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Program.)

5.5 year old and 3.5 year old daughters. I've only seen a little of Peg + Cat, but my wife says it is pretty good. There's actually some pretty fun kids shows out there that I don't mind watching with my girls.

My son is only 1.5, but he still loves that show. It's really the only kids show he enjoys. (He'll dig on Dinosaur Train or Sesame Street if they're singing, but he responds much more to stand-up comedy, The Daily Show, and Bones. It's kinda weird...)

I guess I should count myself lucky, my kids (4 and 2) will ALWAYS ask for either Doctor Who, or Top Gear. Unless of course somehow Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on, then they (especially the boy who's 2) will beg to keep it on that.

I was curious about this and had a gander. It's really nicely animated and I like that it's done on what looks like old school books/jotters.

Still inferior to the ultimate human and cat partnership in kids TV.

Well, I think they won at least one. I spent about an hour trying to figure out who won the 'uncool' awards, but every list I can find just has about a dozen or so of the daytime Emmy's, and that's it. During my search, I saw at least one picture pop up on a sidebar of Dwayne Hill and Hayley Faith Negrin holding up what looked like Emmy's.

There we go. Outstanding Pre-School Children's Animated Program, and Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program. Also, Jennifer Oxley was honored for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation.

Congrats to them!
