I was browing The Metal Bikini and the bases in a picture showing off some guys custom asteroids stands out. I'd like to get some of them, but my own google fu is coming up short. They don't appear to be done by litko, so I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.

http://www.themetalbikini.com/2014/05/potpourri-for-500-tantive-iv-now.html is the post that contains the picture. I can't see an option for a direct link to the pic or I'd just post that.

The look homemade.

Those are almost certainly lava rocks.

Whoops, I wasn't very clear and what I said could be interpreted as interested in the Asteroid stands. I was actually interested in the blue bases, not the lava rock ones.

I can't see the blue bases you're referring to, but a lot of people paint their plastic bases with translucent paint, it could be that.

Have a look at GWs glaze paints, or pick any of their colours, mix it equally with their lahmian medium and water and make your own. I believe Vallejo do some too

You can also take a Sharpie to them as well.

Just make sure you make broad strokes, rather than short little colouring strokes.
