Great show as usual. Deadzone sounds like a lot of fun. I'd imagine that a fan created version of Necromunda using the Deadzone rule system can't be all that far away from the way you made it sound.

Really nice show. I backed the Deadzone kickstarter primarily for the terrain. Based on your review I will likely give the game a shot...

I'm a Deadzone kickstarter awaiting my 2nd shipment. I'm glad you like the game! For me there is much in the gameplay and the terrain and so forth to commend it, but overall the thing for me is "Value for money". Into that mix goes the sheer volume of "stuff" you get in the box, the high fun and good quality of the content and presentation of the rules, and of course the relatively low price. The quality of the casting of models is perhaps "average" rather than "outstanding" (largely because of the "restic" they are made of), but that is a small downside in the overall scheme of things for me.

And of course, as you mentioned, there is so much more coming down the pike - more factions, expansions...

And Squats!

You guys are making me wanna buy Deadzone.

Would I be better off with the big box set? or buying the rulebook & models and stuff separately? I was already about to invest in a lot of the terrain, the big ruined quadrant. Would I be OK with just that, and the book + some models?

You probably want the boxed game. It comes with terrain, Enforcers, Plague, the rule book, the mat, dice, and tokens. You can play with what's in the box just fine, but adding some more terrain is nice. If you are in the USA, it's $80 (MSRP is $100) from Amazon, and Prime eligible. All that separately would be a lot more. The faction starters alone are $35 each (MSRP), the mat $25 and the rule $20 - so even before terrain, dice and counters you are up to $115.
