UK.

I've been out of the loop for a few years so please excuse any fictional slip ups in this thread. I've long been a fan of Blood Angels and Eldar, and find the fiction surrounding both to be thoroughly entertaining. But I also like to look at it in the wider context when it comes to the future of the galaxy and how different factions and species would or should interact.

So, for me in particular it regards the Eldar and mankind. If I recall, it has been previously suggested in official material that both humans and Eldar share a common ancestor. But we all know that both are very different in regards to culture and technology, and share a common distrust of each other. However, that hasn't stopped both parties working together, even it is only for the benefit of the Eldar, as predicted by a Farseer. But it does display an ability to put aside any mutual problems and fight a common enemy. After all, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" rings true here. And though the Eldar may often utilise or manupulate those around them, they obviously never side with Chaos -- for obvious reasons -- or the tyranids. So this surely demonstrates the capacity to go beyond mutual distrust and seek a common ground.

It's my belief that in the long term and wider reaching future of the 40K fiction that the Eldar must one day align themselves as a species with humanity, for the greater good. Perhaps even the Orks and the Tau could also come in to play here, all siding together to fight the real enemies -- Chaos and the Tyranids.

I know that mankind is deeply against any form of xeno relationship, but surely the Emperor must one day come to the conclusion that mankind cannot face this fight alone. After all, the two greatest threats within Chaos were created, in a way, by both mankind and the Eldar. The Eldar gave birth to Slaanesh and the Emperor gave Chaos the likes of Horus and his armies. Both are mutually responsible in a way and both must seek council and reconcil their differences in order to fight their common enemy.

While I agree I don't think it will happen. The Imperium as it is won't ally for obvious reasons and the Emperor won't change anything as he wasn't exactly friendly in the Crusade.

The closest to allying either will be is throwing the other under the charging Carnifex to get a few more shots.

However I can see the Tau, Eldar and Dark Eldar allying against the Tyranids and the first two against Chaos.

That seems far too logical haha. As the rulebook says lots of armies may come together in the end 'come the apocalypse' - and a tyranid invasion would probably seem like that. Plus the Imperium falling to Chaos would help noone - otherwise the IG/SM wouldn't be there to clean up the mess and the eldar would have to - instead of picking and choosing their fights!

Many started armies including: / , , ....and Bretonnia

While the Eldar and Humanity should ally given it'd be a massive increase in power for both factions, it sadly will never happen. Really though, they should, considering it'd massively increase the chances of survival of both factions.

It'd help if Eldar would shoot a message to the inquisition maybe before purging a world. "Headsup- our Farseer sees HERESY" because crashing onto a planet and murdering the population of an entire city before popping back into the webway.

In the Valedor novel a far seer predict that all eldar variations will fight chaos in the rhana dandra, and the armies of the imperium will fight alongside of them.

They also predict that it is not far off either, happening within the next thousand years.

The sequence of events they predict is 1) Chaos spilling from the Eye and corrupting the mortal races, but ultimately dying off like a wildfire, then 2) the Tyranids wither the galaxy to desert and then move on, before finally 3) the Necrons rise and rule a galaxy of dust and darkness until the end of time.

It's worth noting that this is only one of several possible futures that are predicted in Valedor though. They also predict that Ynnead will awaken and defeat Slaanesh (leading to the glorious rebirth of the Eldar empire) and also an aborted future in which Kraken and Leviathan compared notes and the resulting Tyranids (making perfect use of Ork, Eldar and human DNA) annihilated the galaxy in short order.

So it's not confirmed one way or another really!

Perhaps Fuegan is Russ? I'm not saying he is, but have you ever seen them in the same room at the the same time?
